Fun fact! The Massassauga Provincial Park is home to two fascinating—and at-risk—little reptiles: the cute little Five-lined Skink and the Massassauga Rattlesnake. Yes, a rattlesnake—Ontario’s only venomous snake species!
Okay, maybe it’s not such a fun fact anymore😅 But don’t worry, your chances of encountering the Massassauga rattlesnake is slim to none!

This is a comprehensive medical training course for those looking to really get into the outdoors industry. This course will upgrade your existing Wilderness Advanced First Aid certification into a Wilderness First Responder certification in just 4 days.

Attention friends! With tomorrow’s weather looking to be rainy, we will instead hold our end of the year bonfire indoors, inside the Mindfulness centre (right beside our office!)
We will be having popcorn and a slideshow to look back on all our fun memories from the past year. Please join us!!
It’s almost time for our end-of-the-year bonfire! While we’re sad to see everyone go, this is a wonderful time for the club to get together for one last time and look back at all of the fun stuff we did throughout the year—with a bonfire cookout!
Next week April 11th, we’re inviting you to come join us at our final bonfire cookout to celebrate another year around the Sun. We’ll have hotdogs (veggie hotdogs available), buns and s’mores and a slideshow (plus a little surprise!) to entertain you all. Please come join us!
We have no Sunday hike planned for this week, but an extra special one for next Sunday!!! Join us as we hike to Sassafras point and then stay after to make some breakfast burritos. EVENTS THIS SUNDAY!!! Join for a special geocaching hike at Spencer Creek on Sunday March 24th!! See below for more info about geocaching!!!!! We also have our pool session scheduled from 4:30-6 on Sunday!! Remember your MOC membership card or $5, and come dressed to swim! 🛶
If you have not heard of geo-caching, its an international game that involves using an app to track certain caches or boxes that other people have hidden (like a gant real life scavenger hunt!!!) We are so lucky at McMaster to be around so many geocaches, so we’ve decided to take advantage of that! If you would like to learn more about geocaching, visit www.geocaching.com.
Hope to see lots of people there for the Outdoor Club’s very first geocache adventure!
