Hello Folks,

I am working on my Childbirth Education (Teaching) certificate with Birth Advocacy Doula Training. I’ve hit some walls in a couple of my assignments that I am hoping to get some of your thoughts on.

**What resources did your Doula or Practitioners share that were most valuable to you?

**What resource did you wish they had information on?

**Did you have your cultural or religious requests met during your birth?

**If you have resources related to culture and or religion that you think would be useful in a birth room, please comment below.

😊 As a Doula, My aim is to make my clients as comfortable as possible, and that usually starts with the atmosphere in the birth room, as well as the post partum healing space.

Thank you for your insight, I’m looking forward to reading your ideas.

Have you had a midwife or received midwifery care in Ontario?

Help us identify the important ways midwives work with you and with each other to ensure that midwifery clients receive the highest quality care. What can midwives do to improve your experience in the prenatal, birth and postpartum period?

We want to hear from YOU! Check out our survey here: https://redcap.link/CoCO !

The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. Contact Julia Simioni at [email protected] for more information.

Baby boy born this week. 💕

One of my favourite things about births is when the partner says they are uncomfortable around blood and needles but it’s all cured when they see their child emerging.

😆 The look on his face was priceless.

The next Prenatal Partner Assist Workshop is Feb 21st at Dundas Yoga and Fitness.
$50/birth person and birth partner
We will go through the stages of labour and use positioning and yoga poses, and other movements to help provide as much comfort as possible. Your partner will learn hands on, (and hands off!) ways to assist you.
Private sessions also available.

Here’s a gift idea for Christmas or a Baby shower:

Young couples dont want a lot of “stuff” for their baby. There is so much to be handed down.

More important are experiences. Experiences make memories more than material items that will be passed down in a couple of months.

Here are two gift ideas for the families who are expecting.

Prenatal Yoga starts in January at Dundas Yoga and Fitness. We talk about what to expect in the birthing room while we help prepare pelvic floor, hips, shoulders and more to create more comfort through pregnancy and beyond.

In our partner assist yoga workshop we go deep into what to expect in the hours before heading to the hospital, we move through the stages of labour and explore what poses the birthing partner can get into to help ease pain, and rest between contractions. The partner can make a huge difference in support especially in the early hours.

I want to hear your stories. ♥️

How long have you been practising Yoga Nidra?

What is your favourite part?

What have you manifested into reality?

This morning I came across a wish list and realized many of the things on the list have slid over to my gratitude list! And the rest I don’t even want or need anymore anyway.

I’ve been practising for almost 8 years, teaching it for 6. I have manifested trips, home improvements, time and wellness for my family, health for myself, career opportunities and much more.

My favourite part? So many. Love the Sankalpas, but really enjoy the imagery and the feeling of having had a long nap.

This is no La-la hippy s**t.

When we focus on something enough and repeat it, it becomes something we work toward naturally. Our brains guide us there.

Any questions?

Tomorrow is my next Yoga Nidra and we are focusing on the heart chakra as a theme. If you would like to join us, we begin on zoom at 8:30-9:30.

Here’s what I want you to know about Restorative Yoga.
When I tell people that I am a Yoga Teacher, they often say “Oh, my doctor says I should be doing yoga for stress and to lower my blood pressure and all that but I’m just not flexible.”

Have a look at the poses below and tell me if you think you aren’t flexible for a restorative yoga class.

These are three common poses in a Resorative class. We hang out in these for at least 5 minutes each and this doesn’t include our final resting pose which is usually about 20 minutes.

Restorative yoga is known for its stress relieving benefits, and many...most? Illnesses are caused initially by stress.

Covid affects everyone both physically and especially mentally.
Contact me to get the zoom links to my classes. ❤️

This pose will get a little uncomfortable in a short time. People complain of neck strain, sore ankles and knees after a while. Scroll down below to see how I adjusted her.

02/03/2021

Supported child’s pose after adjustment.
Her back is a straighter line after I built up the bolster higher with blankets. Blocks or books can also be used. The tops of her feet have a travel pillow underneath to prevent getting sore ankles from flexion, and there is support behind the knees for more comfort.

Try is is a pose we do most every class. People struggle with it because
A) The low back gets uncomfortable after a while because the bolster might be too thick.
b) The tailbone isn’t close enough to the bolster..
Scroll down for a video on how to adjust.
