After 16 years, The Cure is back with their 14th studio album, Songs Of A Lost World. Songs from the record were previewed during their 90-date, 33-country ‘Shows Of A Lost World’ tour for more than 1.3 million people to overwhelming fan and critical acclaim.
Speaking about, “Alone,” the opening track on the album, Robert Smith says, “It’s the track that unlocked the record; as soon as we had that piece of music recorded, I knew it was the opening song and I felt the whole album come into focus... that was the moment when I knew the song – and the album – were real.” Robert Smith created the sleeve concept and Andy Vella, a longtime Cure collaborator, handled the album’s art and design. The cover art features ‘Bagatelle,’ a 1975 sculpture by Janez Pirnat.

Long Road To Nowhere is the debut rock opera by local musician and McMaster alumnus Andrew Mrozowski. It tells the journey of a young person who is fed up with their small town, hops on a bus and explores who they are within the big city. A few wrong choices, an undiagnosed mental illness, and some bad external influences make it hard for this person to pick the correct path — a facet of life we've all endured at some point or another.
This album is heavily inspired by Mrozowski's own path growing up in small town Newcastle, ON and moving to Hamilton for university. He hopes that the journey is relatable to some. The music itself is very inspired by early 2000s pop-punk, such as Green Day, Simple Plan, with some other influences such as Linkin Park, Metallica, and Guns N' Roses.
All of the music was written and recorded by Mrozowski with lyrical support from friends along the way. It was recorded at Silhouette Studios at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON. Vocals were edited by RyN Vocals, and mixed by Soundbros Studios.

YES! It's time again for Risky Business 80s Night rooolllll caaallll! Who's coming out TONIGHT (SATURDAY, NOV. 2) for some '80s retro dance party fun The Casbah?! The needle hits the vinyl starting at 9:00pm, sharp, with DJ (David Murkovich) and continues on with DJ MARK from 11:00pm until close.
We'll have plenty of FREE retro candy and party favours like "shutter shade" sunglasses, glow sticks and fishnet gloves (while supplies last) so you can really get in the mood, and Kate from will be in the house with her all-natural, custom-scented candles.
