W Conspiracy Farm
We hope to share our delicious goods with you, from eggs to honey to fruits and vegetables to pickles and preserves!
So I mentioned to a few people on Saturday that they had to wait two weeks for corn relish because I was taking this weekend off. As the pictures show I didn’t quite manage off but I did have fun. 4 new recipes, 2 that will hit the market table this weekend (sweet relish and cowboy candy (sweet pickles jalapeno slices)) and the two bread and butter pickle versions will need three weeks until I can verify they’ve succeeded. I’ve also got the bonus brine for some amazing chicken and pork dinners. We also found another dozen or so recipes we want to try but didn’t have time this weekend and I was sent home with a new jam to sample and potentially add to my lineup. Thanks for a fabulous weekend jennifer_williamson19.
Gorgeous day at the market today! Dill pickles, garlic dill relish and zucchini relish already from this years crop. The crazy days have begun!
Thanks to Fisher Farms for the amazing cucumbers and zucchini I spent Sunday and Monday pickling and relishing. I’ve also been working on the spring cleanup tasks that definitely didn’t occur in spring and thanks to my new helper I’m almost caught up - just in time for him to head off to camp. We have one pasture left to fence and I’ve got a pending calf deadline so we are working hard on making it happen!
I’ll bring these to the market Saturday but I strongly encourage waiting at least a couple weeks for the pickles to achieve peak flavour. Relish cooks before canning so it doesn’t need the time.
Come down to the farmers market today and visit! Music in the park from 11am to 4 pm and great tastes from us and Fat Bottomed Girls Garlic until 1pm!
So it’s not the old wives tales on the podium this time!

Video provides a bonus insight into my working play list and the things I manage to find amusing while walking in the rain.
The weather was right and the weather girls half right! Old sailor sayings earned a big fat zero!
Gorgeous evening walk through the berries.
weather report says rain but the sunset disagrees! Lovely evening … before the storm?

I’ve been out with a nasty cold but I’m back on my feet and video is back on the to do list! When I’m sick it’s only chores required to keep someone alive.

It’s a wet morning but there is also a gap in the heat so it’s a pretty good trade off for a day at the market. Fat Bottomed Girls Garlic is here with our scape products including the famous cheese spread, garlic scape pesto , garlic scape butter and our full line of garlic scape based seasonings.
Come down and see us and taste everything!
A rushed video while I was trying to beat the downpour.
Final post for the day, apparently I ignore you all week and then catch up in one day! Scape harvest went well, I’ve processed about half of my half and it’s dehydrating. Liz will be working on hers as soon as the power returns to her place! That storm was crazier when you got north of us. It did wash the scapes pretty well though, I washed them all with the same sink of water and it was almost crystal clear when I finished. Big change from last year!
Fat Bottomed Girls Garlic will have scape based products at the Lindsay market June 22nd, and this week there are some special cocktail cherries on the farm side.
See you all there!
Thanks to Mickaël's School of Bread for a fabulous morning. Learned to make pretzels with Lilian Wishnousky and came home with a couple dozen to hoard or share!
Totally worth both the time and money. We will be back for a bagel class!

The official sign of real spring is here, lilacs are so very close to full bloom. I took these pictures this morning and by the time I returned from retrieving Brian from the airport lilac is all I can smell.
The huge bank was here when we purchased but last year I added 3 new bushes so in a decade or so we will have a full wall from the driveway to the fence. These long term projects are kind of fun.
Bonus picture of this mornings snuggly piglets!
Our first retail placement! Congratulations Kathleen and it’s so nice to be back in Norland.
Today was also freedom day for Cream and the kids. With the back pasture electric finished we were able to move the horses and cows away from the pigs so she is out of her farrowing pen. In addition the new ducks were given their freedom today too!
Just a picture of the ducks as they refused to come outside for the video!

We had a crazy rain storm last night and although I’m usually strongly opposed to rain at this point in the year it was nice to be able to evaluate the imact of the
ditch clearing we just had done.
Long video today so just a clip here and a link for the rest.
Please enjoy a look. I’m so happy!
