In Infor Financial Group Inc most recent episode of SNS Kenrick Sylvestre speaks with Christopher Misch Founder and CEO of ChargerQuest. The Electric Vehicle market is poised for rapid expansion as countries, like Canada, mandate all new passenger vehicles to be zero-emission by 2035. OEMs like Ford, Nissan, Toyota/Lexus, etc. are expected to invest US$515 billion into EVs over the next 5-10 years and the 10.5 million EVs on the road globally are expected to grow to approximately 75 million by 2035. It is also estimated that there are approximately 18,000 public charging stations installed or under development in Canada today and that will need to expand to ~200,000 by 2030 in order to meet growing EV demand. ChargerQuest currently has a network of over 200 Level 2 (AC) and Level 3 fast charging (DC) chargers installed or under construction across Canada. Christopher and Kenrick discuss the $165 billion EV industry as a whole, the costs and benefits of owning an EV, government incentives, tax credits, the challenges facing EV charging infrastructure, and Charging as a Service (CaaS) as part of ChargerQuest's two-pronged approach to finding success in the industry.
