Nortrans Freight Management
Family owned and operated since 1992, Nortrans is a multi-service freight management company based in Kelowna BC.
We've grown with our customers and community from a one-person delivery service to a diversified fleet that hauls across North America.
Company Statement on Employee Conduct
We are deeply troubled and saddened by a recent incident involving one of our employees.
Our company has always been committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, responsibility, and compassion—both within the workplace and in our broader community. The behavior reported is completely unacceptable and goes against what we stand for.
We want to assure our customers, employees, and community that we take this matter very seriously. Animal cruelty is not tolerated by our company. We are committed to fostering a culture of empathy and respect for all living beings, and we will be reviewing our policies to ensure that this type of behavior is never associated with our brand.
We understand that this incident has caused distress, and we are here to listen. Please reach out to us directly if you have any concerns. We appreciate your patience and trust as we navigate this difficult situation.

A big THANK YOU to Ted and all of our Professional Drivers for a successful 2022. Wishing everyone health and happiness in the year ahead.
Decarbonization.
A looming, complex topic for a heavy-duty trucking company, but an essential topic nonetheless.
In late November, Nortrans had the opportunity to partner with Peterbilt Pacific Inc. and test a Peterbilt 579 EV. We integrated the truck into our Lower Mainland fleet for the week and put it to work in a real-world, heavy-duty setting. The insight we gained was invaluable. Battery electric trucks are quickly evolving and are finding their place within supply chain decarbonization.
While the path ahead is unchartered, Nortrans is committed to work with our customers and partners to lead the transportation industry towards a low-carbon future. We're encouraged by the speed of innovation around us and are excited by the future opportunities that come with an industry in transition. Most of all, we're hopeful. Hopeful that we're helping create a brighter future for the next generation.
As you'll hear in the video, "we're giving back what we took, and we're not leaving a bunch of smoke in the mirror."
For more information on Nortrans' decarbonization plan and our low-carbon offerings, please get in touch.

A warm welcome to the newest member of the Nortrans team, Rav Matharoo. Rav will be joining the team as our Fleet Maintenance Manager, responsible for maintaining Nortrans' equipment across Western Canada.
Rav has deep roots in the Okanagan Valley having grown up in Penticton, BC. In 2017, he became a certified red seal commercial transport mechanic with Cookson Motors (now Dawson). Having spent 10 years in the transportation industry as a Technician, Foreman, Service Advisor, and Service Manager, he's no stranger to the business.
Whether he's in a button-up or coveralls, in the office or under a truck with a wrench in his hand, be sure to say hi and give Rav a warm welcome!
We asked Rav a few questions to help you get to know him better. Here's what he had to say:
1. How did you get your start in the transportation and logistics industry?
RM - I got my start in the transportation industry when I first obtained my job at Cookson Motors (Dawson) upon completion of my Pre-Apprentice course at OK College. My starting years
were focused on servicing and repair and gradually moved to diagnostics and then foreman/leadhand.
2. What makes you most excited about your start with Nortrans?
RM - What makes me most excited about starting with Nortrans is that it's a family run business that I’ve had the privilege of working with for the last 5+ years. With the fast changing world I look forward to being part of a team that continues to invest in the future technology of the transportation industry and be a part of a team that has been a top fleet employer for 2 consecutive years.
3. What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?
RM - 2 things that most people don’t know about me:
1. My passion for flying ever since I was young boy, always looking up in the sky to see the passing airplanes, discovery flights with local pilots and flight schools, currently working on obtaining my Private Pilot License.
2. After completing my apprenticeship through OK College and obtaining my Red Seal Certification I was asked by OK College to be the poster boy for Heavy Mechanical trades. I was featured on job fair posters, the OK college Website and as an AD on the back of
numerous city busses.
We're excited to introduce the newest member of our Operations team, Brent Wiggins.
Brent is a long-time Abbotsford local and has been working in the transportation and logistics industry for most of his career. With decades of experience between Class 1 driving, maintenance, dispatch, and other roles, Brent is a real-life trucking Swiss Army Knife.
Brent will be based in our Chilliwack office, operating Nortrans' reload location and contributing expertise across the entire Operations team. You'll likely find him moving and shaking across the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland, working at our customer sites, shops, and Chilliwack reload. Please join us in welcoming Brent!
We asked Brent a few questions to help you get to know him better. Here's what he had to say:
1. How did you get your start in the transportation and logistics industry?
BW - I started a VERY long time ago as a grease monkey doing small repairs and oil changes back with Gary’s Delivery Service…Gary asked me if I wanted to drive from him part-time. I stayed with him for 10 years or so and then went to work for Canwel where I got my first taste of hauling trailers…then to Protrux when Canwel got rid of the trucks. Stayed there for a few years, then went on to driving various crane trucks before landing at Rona Dist. which later became Dicks Lumber Dist.
2. What makes you most excited about your start with Nortrans?
BW - Well…it is just like coming home!
3. What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?
BW - Not sure to perfectly honest…I am an open book. What you see is mostly what you get.
