When Dr. Kilkus approached us regarding her new clinic, , her ask was for an interior that was unique, inviting and most importantly, fun. She wanted her brand to feel inclusive and approachable, one that would allow her team and patients alike to relax and feel at ease. Our team incorporated bold colours that pop when contrasted with creamy white and warm wood tones, as well as rounded millwork elements had two purposes; firstly to incorporate playful forms in line with the brand identity, and secondly to keep the small footprint of the retail area comfortable. Wallcoverings were incorporated to add visual interest in the exam rooms, with warm to dim lighting to create a soothing atmosphere to each exam room. The overall experience of the clinic feels like a direct reflection of Dr. Kilkus’ bright and sunny personality!

DOBER WILLIAMS LAW GROUP | professional and sophisticated

Occupying two floors of a mixed use building at 540 Lawrence in Kelowna, the professional offices of Dober Williams Law Group express an interior with a timeless sophistication. This office was relocated from its original location, bringing along some of the beautiful custom walnut desks, built in lounge furniture and doors; from there our team provided a design that incorporated these pieces seamlessly. Starting with the high-contrast design of the lobby and moving to the offices, meeting spaces and staff areas, Hatch paid very close attention to every detail to ensure the interior reflected the esteemed reputation of our clients’ law firm. Clean, sharp lines, expanses of glass partitions, warm, rich walnut and a variety of floor and wallcovering patterns helps to create an elegant and dynamic interior for both team members and clients alike.

GENESIS DENTAL | feel at home

The approach for was to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the patients and team of Dr. Sipra Gohel, where they deliver comprehensive dental services focusing on innovative technology. Designing a residential vibe with the use of commercial grade, durable and cleanable materials ensures that this clinic fulfills all of the infection control requirements while creating a comfortable environment for anyone using the space. Warm wood tones are paired with black accents, a vibrant green floral motif and beautiful details in the arches and herringbone installations were incorporated to provide a familiar home-like aesthetic.

CHILANGO | bright and bold

Our experience working with on their authentic Mexican restaurant was unique from our typical process. The owners of Chilango had an incredibly strong vision and came to us with all of the inspiration we needed to help put the pieces together. The bright and bold design with traditional colours and motifs helps to create a vibrant environment in which to serve their contemporary Mexican cuisine. Additional collaboration with the General Contractor and a custom commissioned graffiti feature, all parties worked together to bring an exciting dining experience to downtown Kelowna!

ATB WEALTH | refined traditional

previously only located in Alberta, was looking to expand its wealth division into BC and chose Kelowna as the first branch location. ATB knew that engaging a local firm was the key to success to ensure that not only their brand standards met, but some specific areas were designed to honor a new relationship to the region. Navy blues, walnut wood grains paired with fine veined marble lean into the traditional wealth office aesthetic, but the sleek modern lines, black metal accents and demountable partitions creates a space committed to staying innovative and relevant. A high level of communication during design and construction with both the Client Group and Construction team lead to a highly successful project, with Hatch now implementing this design into ATB's offices across the country.

ELEMENTS DENTAL | holistic and light

is a one of its kind dental practice in the heart of downtown Victoria. With Dr. Chow’s training in multiple areas of Dentistry and Eastern healing and a holistic approach to dentistry the design of the clinic considered the principles of feng shui where balance is created with the natural world and there is harmony between individuals and their environment. These principles were incorporated throughout the space in features such as curved ceilings and millwork, plant life and images, natural colors and wood tones, as well as bringing in as much natural lighting from the exterior windows into the space. The result is a calming and beautiful space to help put their patients at ease. The clinic holds 14 treatment rooms, a large lecture room for training purposes, and a large, comfortable staff room, along with the multiple support spaces required for a dental clinic to properly function.

478 BERNARD | professional and modern

This prominent corporate building, owned by Stream Property Partners Inc., in the heart of downtown Kelowna was in need of an update, both internally and externally. Hatch helped to freshen up the exterior through selection of paint and assistance in signage locations, however the majority of the design work was in the common areas of the interior. New finishes, lighting, millwork accents and wayfinding breathed new life into these spaces, helping to attract new tenants and modernize the corporate environment.

NECTAR NATUROPATHIC | soft and serene

When relocated their clinic, they engaged Hatch to design the space to create a warm and natural environment to match their practices philosophy. The treatment rooms were placed on the exterior wall so that the rooms could be flooded with natural light. Custom millwork is placed throughout the clinic, including a beautifully lit, full height cabinet to display and store supplements. Key design elements include arch details, wood touches, sage and brass colour tones, terrazzo tile and plant life throughout. Together these features all create a beautifully soft and harmonious space.

BITE DENTAL | warm welcome

After an extensive search with Hatch weighing in to support along the way. Bite Dental found the location to call its own. A desirable location with tons of space and potential, but much work to be done to make the space a home for Bite Dental. Enter Hatch, an extensive renovation that removed a demising wall to bring two suites together, required a rebuild of the mezzanine to meet current building code and a gut of the rest of the space. This was not a minor undertaking! The Hatch team and Dr. Dawn collaborated comprehensively during every phase of design to ensure every square inch of this clinic serves a purpose and nothing was left un-accounted for. The space is fun and fresh and flooded with natural light due to the addition of new windows and utilization of the massive ceiling height. The design incorporates important elements of the branding with pops of colour, classic wood tones provide the warm welcome throughout the interior that makes patients want to stay awhile.

Celebrating the holiday season 🎄🪓⛄️

Stream Property Partnership approached our team with the unique opportunity to assist in the revitalization of what is now Bernard Place and we jumped at the chance to breathe new life into this prominent block of downtown Kelowna.

The entire façade of the building was renovated to provide a design that compliments the surrounding buildings and conveys a modern and professional image, while adding to the interest and character of the downtown area. We broke up the long façade with a variety of finishes, and dedicated a portion of for a custom mural by a local artist. The direction was inspired by the active Kelowna lifestyle and an appreciation for the beautiful surrounding nature and landscape.

The interior second floor space was also revitalized with a modern art deco feeling to match the history of the existing building. Warm wood tones, geometric wall tiles, and black and gold accents bring a reminiscent art deco vibe while still maintaining a modern feeling for any office professional.

PDC Accounting | clean and modern

When PDC relocated their office they knew they wanted their space to be a reflection of their accounting firm; professional, modernized, and with attention to detail. Clean lines that bring your eye from the wall to the ceiling while taking advantage of views to the outdoors and allowing daylight to flood the office space are all features that create a dynamic workspace. We specified new furniture throughout, including typical workstations outfitted with adjustable, ergonomic features. A variety of work spaces were provided for ultimate flexibility for working collaboratively or privately depending on the task. Every design detail was carefully considered to ensure a working environment that aids in productivity, with an emphasis on strengthening the PDC brand.

CARIBOO RAIL | fresh and inspiring

Cariboo Rail, a division of JDS Energy + Mining, was in need of a fresh space to house their expanding team that not only reflected their brand, but offered a mix of community spaces and private offices. A blend of lived-in + worn elements (brick, warm wood tones and worn leathers) contrasted by the clean glazed office fronts and high finished concrete floors gives perfect balance to the space, while paying homage to the railway was not only paramount, but inspiring.

The IT Services Department at Okanagan College was looking for a full overhaul of their 360 square foot space. Utilizing some existing brand standards, along with new and punchy finishes created a fully revamped space incorporating all their functional needs along with a refreshed aesthetic!

PRECISION CLINIC | maximizing the natural light ☀️

Overlooking the lake, Precision Clinic showcases a picturesque view of all Kelowna has to offer.

The interior was designed to bring in as much of this natural light as possible, all the while, maintaining privacy and serenity for its patients. This resulted in a minimalist, clean clinic with sleek features and biophilic accents.

Medical clinics can be anxiety provoking, so introducing elements that sooth and moderate elevated emotions are crucial for a successful design. We achieved this by combining greenery and wood accents with clean white walls, black accents all grounded by a polished concrete floor.

The client wanted to create a comfortable and upscale space not only for his clients but also for his staff. Adjustable features include sit to stand programmable desks at the click of a button, ergonomic task chairs, and articulating dual monitor arms.

Precision Sexual Health Clinic for Men

TEAM BUILDING | Staff appreciation day for the sweetest team there is! So grateful for this talented group of individuals who pour their heart and soul into Hatch and our Clients each and every day 🤍🐣👊🏼

In celebration of the re-opening and a welcome to our new neighbours in the Innovation Centre - please enjoy this throwback from when we had first designed and brought the Perch to life!

Perch’s dark and moody atmosphere is a stark contrast to the bright and contemporary building it sits atop, which was an intentional choice to create a true change of pace. The wood clad walls wrapping from the outside in, set the tone, while the elaborate walnut millwork, brass details, and carefully selected furniture all layer upon the design intent.

The incorporation of high polished concrete floors and a custom cast concrete pedestal with Perch logo, provide a contemporary touch, marrying the old vibe with new.

LEDCOR | upscale & contemporary 👌

It’s not everyday you have the opportunity to design a space where the client is also the General Contractor!

Ledcor challenged us to aid in their transition from a 9,000 sq/ft standalone building to a 4,800 sq/ft top floor in the Landmark buildings in Kelowna, BC.

We collaborated with the team to integrate many Ledcor branded elements, while also providing some personalized touches in the attention to detail throughout.

Concealed and directional lighting highlight key company signage and design elements. Wood look laminate millwork creates functional concealed storage space and adds warmth to the otherwise bright and clean office.
