Additionally, the City is waiving transit fees to ensure transportation is not a barrier to keeping coolโmake sure to tell the driver that you are travelling to a place to cool down.

Pamela's Success Story ๐
Exiting an eight-year career as a Downtown Kelowna Building Manager could have left Pamela feeling adrift, but instead, it ignited a fire within her to pursue a change. Despite facing the challenge of being laid off and encountering months of fruitless job searching, Pamela remained undeterred. Recognizing the need for a different approach, Pamela made the bold decision to pivot her career trajectory.
Thatโs when Pamela, at the advice of a friend, reached out to WorkBC Centre Kelowna. From the moment Pamela engaged with her Employment Consultant (EC), she felt an immediate sense of encouragement and guidance. The journey from initial appointment to program enrollment was swift, thanks to Pamela's clarity of purpose and the comprehensive assistance provided by her EC. Through workshops, networking events, self-marketing sessions, and mock interviews, Pamela honed her skills and prepared herself for the challenges of entrepreneurship.
With no barriers holding her back, she enrolled in the Self-Employment Program, setting her sights on becoming an Interior Home Decorator and Designer. Despite the uncertainties that come with venturing into self-employment, Pamela remained resolute. Armed with her experience in case management and the invaluable insights gained from the Self-Employment Program, she launched her interior decorating and design business on April 26, 2024.
