Elk are known for their impressive antlers, which are exclusive to the male members of the species. These antlers serve multiple purposes, including attracting mates and establishing dominance within their social hierarchy. Antlers can reach lengths up to 4 feet and weigh up to 40 pounds!

Did you know that rub ants on their feathers? It is believed that they do this because the ants taste better without acid and the act of rubbing the ants on their feathers helps remove the acid from their tasty treat.

On average, beavers can spend anywhere from 12 to 16 hours per day in the water. They are excellent swimmers and are well-adapted to their semi-aquatic lifestyle. This extended time in the water allows them to forage for aquatic plants, their primary food source, and to carry out construction and maintenance work on their dams and lodges.
