Today is World Refugee Day. The UN-recognized celebration was established to commemorate and honour those with refugee experience.
This year's theme is solidarity: "Refugees need our solidarity now more than ever. Solidarity means keeping our doors open, celebrating their strengths and achievements, and reflecting on the challenges they face. Solidarity with people forced to flee also means finding solutions to their plight – ending conflicts so they can return home in safety, ensuring they have opportunities to thrive in the communities that have welcomed them, and providing countries with the resources they need to include and support refugees" - The UN Refugee Agency.
This World Refugee Day, stand to celebrate how far they've come, but also stand to support them along the journey in recognition of how much further there is to go.

This year we had over thirty cumulative nominations for these awards, recognizing entrepreneurs through our “Community Building,” “Start Up,” and “Inspirational” categories. Congratulations to these nominees. Your work, merit, and contributions to the Kingston area have not gone unnoticed.
