Dunin-Deshpande Queen's Innovation Centre (DDQIC) is looking for entrepreneurial teams who are responding to unmet needs in the health sector for Build2Scale Health!
Are you and a team developing an entrepreneurial venture in health innovation? If so, DDQIC can provide your team with the mentorship, network, and financial support you need to succeed.
NEW this year is the GrowRural Health stream, specifically looking for teams with innovative ideas and solutions to improve the health landscape in rural communities.
Program Details:
Runs May 9 - August 26, 2022
• Apply as a team.
• Participants in the program will receive a stipend of $7000 each (maximum 3 stipends available per team.)
• Flexible, part-time commitment.
• Opportunities to compete for dedicated health innovation seed funding prizes and a grand prize of up to $30,000.
• Learn from esteemed faculty, entrepreneurs, and business strategists in DDQIC's network who have experience in health innovation.
• Access a curated network of mentors and grow your network in healthcare.
• Participate in foundational entrepreneurship training including topics like design thinking, customer discovery, and systems thinking with healthcare-related examples.
• Access legal and IP strategy support from legal professionals.
• Early stage ideas are welcome!
Who is eligible?
Drawing inspiration from the WHO Health Innovation Group definition of health innovation, we are searching for teams who want to “develop and deliver new or improved health policies, systems, products and technologies, and services and delivery methods that improve people’s health.”
If your team is looking to create distinctive value in the health sector in the form of improved efficiency, effectiveness, quality, safety and/or affordability, this program is for you. We are accepting teams who are working on innovations in preventive, promotive, therapeutic, rehabilitative, and/or assistive care.

Today is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women. On this day we remember the murder of 14 women that occurred at l’École Polytechnique in Montreal in 1989. December 6 falls within the of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. A white ribbon is used to signify solidarity and support.
