Women's Art Festival

Canada's Longest Running Women's Art Festival
August 10, 2024 | 10AM-4PM The original concept for the festival has, for the most part, remained unchanged.

This year's 36th Annual Kingston Women's Art Festival takes place on Sunday August 20th in City Park from 10AM - 5PM

The Women's Art Festival was started in the late 70's by a group of women who were interested in promoting the work of women artists. This outstanding annual one day rain or shine festival has always operated the third Sunday of August.

Bayash Sisters are a folk-pop duo from Ottawa, ON, known for their intricate harmonies. Born into a musical family, sisters Eliza “Yarro” and Emma Bayash have been singing together for as long as they can remember. ARTIST FEATURE // Tiny Horse Music will be playing at the Women's Art Festival on August 10 at 3 pm 🎶

To see and hear Kingston, Ontario indie rock outfit Tiny Horse is to step into a place of possibility and freedom. Their performances are equal parts small-town q***r cabaret, ‘70s folk-rock rapture, and Bowie-ish extravaganza. Their music crackles with John Prine’s rich storytelling and winking humor, Patti Smith’s punkish abandon and revelry, Haim and Taylor Swift’s melodic brilliance.

Along with celebrated appearances at Guelph’s renowned Hillside Festival and Mackinnon Brothers’ Back To The Farm, Tiny Horse have spent the last few years converting some of Ontario’s best music rooms—from the El Mocambo to the National Arts Centre to the sweaty depths of Kingston’s pubs—into places of celebration and light and the sort of weirdo genius that lives outside the crush of normative society.

Sarah from Party Shoes Creative has joy and optimism in her art. She works on paper, canvas, and panel, incorporating collage, acrylic, and other mediums. Inspired by nature, history, and the colors around 🍃

Frances from Solasta Soaps creates soaps, bath, and body products. She researches the properties of the oils and butters to find the perfect blend and create products that are natural, skin loving, and gentle, with scents and colours to enhance the beauty of each handcrafted bar 🫧
