In honour of Wolfe Island’s Olympic medalist Kristina Walker we have made a truly Canadian Sundae!!!

A soft serve ice cream topped with a maple cookie crumble, maple syrup, a maple cookie.

Also, if you are on the Island, tomorrow Saturday August 17th please join our community in celebrating Kristina’s achievement at the Wolfe Island Community Centre at 2pm

Just about every corner of the shop is making me anxious these days! I don’t love the way things are merchandised. So much is changing! We’re constantly moving things around and trying to make sense of the renovations but nothing is happening fast enough for that juicy validation of a job completed.
So here’s a picture that has some things I didn’t fuss about fixing and has been browsed by customers today. Sometimes everything is in flux and nothing is perfect and that has to be okay too. 💛

Starting August 17, the Wolfe Islander IV will operate from the Marysville dock in the heart of Wolfe Island.

Today is Fishtale’s 7th anniversary.
This morning Annelise did the farmers market with goodies and I opened up Fishtale. A typical Saturday this summer.
Last night I chopped jalapeños and nestled quiches into boxes while Annelise baked cookies and brownies and we laughed about how our bakery will have so much chaotic singing and dancing.
A few hours ago Annelise popped her head in and handed me 2 cookies and a fresh peach.
Right now she is picking up a delivery for our renovation and I am fielding questions about the ferry (we don’t know, FYI).

It has been a strange summer.

No time off. So much waiting. No ferry in the village.

Running a small business is tough.
I could ramble on about how small businesses are closing at alarming rates and how Amazon doesn’t love you like we love you but that’s not today’s topic.

Today I’ll just say this:
Surround yourself with people who lift you up and celebrate your wins. Tomorrow is not a guarantee. Things can change so quickly and so dramatically that you have to rethink everything. Might as well do this crazy thing called life with people who love you.

We’re growing and morphing and changing into something new all the time. Can’t wait to show you what comes next.

Wow! Kitchen renovations are no joke!
It’s expensive! It’s time consuming! The building is over 100 years old! We’re on an island!

We’re chipping away and things are starting to look like we’re actually doing something instead of just putting holes in walls and then fixing the holes in the walls.

We are so grateful for everyone who has donated to the gofundme (it’s still up, by the way!). It has helped tremendously. To all the people who really showed up for us, we see you and we appreciate you. You’re the best. 💛

As usual, we ask that you bring a maximum of 5 items of clothing (clean & in good condition) and make a $5 donation!
Both men’s and women’s clothing!
We have a fitting room and encourage you to try items on!

Fast fashion accounts for an enormous amount of waste and shopping second hand can make a huge impact! We believe in offsetting our carbon footprint any way we can while providing a fun environment for fashion and expression in our community.
