This is a reminder of our Annual Year-End Celebration, Grading, Picture Day and Potluck

When?

Saturday, December 16, 2023

10am: Kids 4 to 7 Years Old Grading and Games
11am: Kids All Ages 4 to 13 Team Picture and Snacks
11am: Ages 8 to 13 Grading
12pm: Kids All Ages 8 to 13 Years old Rounds
2pm: Adult and Teens Team Picture/Grading
3pm to 5pm: Adult and Teens Rolling
4pm onward: Team Potluck and Celebration
If you are a student please wear your Learn2Master Academy Gi if you have one, or Rashguard/T-shirt.
Please send us an email if you're bringing any food to the potluck, and what you're bringing
Also, confirm your attendance by emailing [email protected]. Please do not send me an IG message as that will be forgotten/will probably not be looked at.

The Ontario Provincial BJJ Championship is just around the corner on December 2 & 3, 2023 for both Kids and Adults

Guest instructor alert! Professor good friend and looong time training partner will be at Learn2Master Academy between August 14 and 19. He will be teaching a mini seminar and leading our Competition training on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 6:45pm to 9pm.
Fee is a minimum $20 cash "sponsorship" to help pay for his Master Worlds Competition costs.
Gato is one of the best BJJ coaches out there, currently coaching at 101 Academy mothership and leading competition classes there. and received his Blackbelt from the Legendary Fabio Gurgel who founded Alliance Jiu Jitsu and owned Alliance Headquarters in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Come learn from him!

All of you fought your hearts out. We brought home some medals too! .najafi19 Mike and Maya (who I couldn't find here on IG, and the Kids too! Competition isn't easy and it's not for everyone, but to truly experience BJJ, you have to try it at least once. The point of competition is to try something that takes you out of your comfort zone and pushes you to be better than yesterday. The effort that our coaching staff puts into competition, the time away from the Academy, staying behind and covering classes, and the financial cost, are all worth it when we see someone go out there and try their best. BJJ is about Learning to Master yourself, your fears, in order to become a better version of yourself than you were yesterday. Medals will ultimately rust or end up in a box under your staircase, but the self awareness that comes from trying something uncomfortable is the ultimate win.

We will be renovating Learn2Master Academy from Thursday, May 25 to Sunday May 28, 2023 and we need your help. Thursday we begin work at 6:30pm. Friday we start in the morning. Members, check your emails. Friends, come help! We are taking down walls and increasing our mat space and need help with everything from drywall to framing to moving mats, rebuilding the mat base, and painting walls.
All classes are cancelled on Friday, Saturday and Sunday May 26, 27, and 28.

Our First ever All Levels NoGi Judo/Takedowns for BJJ class on Tuesday at 8pm to 9pm at Learn2Master Academy was a huge success. Thank you to Sensei , for adapting the moves to NoGi and Coach Steve Purchase] for his assistance with this insanely busy class. At the end of the day, we are a GFTeam school: Grappling Fight Team. This means we will grapple on the feet, we will grapple in the air, we will grapple on the ground, we will grapple in the snow, and on the beaches. We will grapple until the war is won.

Here are our Mat Hygiene/Housekeeping rules. We clean and sterilize our mats after each class block so help us keep staph, ringworm, and other nasty things far far away!
We will send these on email as well. Lots of people joining us every day so it's important to keep our cleaning and hygiene up!
Oh, and wear deodorant for Pete's sake!!!
