NERv Technology is now FluidAI!

Our solution has transitioned over the last few years to a complete monitoring platform that integrates with existing catheters to monitor patients during their post-op recovery period. As we look forward to our commercial release, it became evident that we are due for a name change to better reflect our core offering.

FluidAI not only reflects our efforts today, but it falls inline with the future that we are building. FluidAI reflects our evolution from a pure MedTech company to a hybrid; combining the state of the art of nanotechnology sensing, hardware, ML/AI & cloud. Finally, FluidAI reflects our effort to build Healthcare’s biggest library of biomarkers associated with the recovery profile for patients.

Olivia is passionate about bridging basic science with clinical outcomes, and in developing innovative technologies to revolutionize patient care. When not working or studying, she is busy as a screenwriter and independent filmmaker, bringing stories of medicine and science to life through film.

Manaswi has a background in biotechnology and research. Her previous work at the University of Toronto focused on the validation of a microfluidic chip for cancer diagnostics; and she conducted research in the field of DNA repair in yeast through genome editing.

Prior to joining NERv, Ali was a biomedical engineering researcher at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, University of Toronto and University of Guelph. Ali has worked on various biomedical engineering projects spanning from software development for industrial medical devices to developing AI models for preserving patient privacy.

Outside of work you'd likely find Ali watching or playing soccer, rooting for Manchester United, or writing comedy sets.

Join us in welcoming Lauren Lesergent to our team! Lauren has a background in microfabrication and nanomaterials, and she received her BASc and MASc degrees in Nanotechnology at the University of Waterloo.

Prior to NERv she worked on the fabrication of optoelectronic devices, but her passion for healthcare led her to join NERv as a Research and Development Engineer. When not working, she enjoys baking, bouldering, and being outdoors.

We're excited to introduce you to our newest team member, Abdulwadood Al-Ali!

Abdulwadood joins NERv from the University of Calgary where he just received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Bio-impedance modelling, measurement, and analysis. During his time at the University of Calgary, Abdulwadood contributed to the field with over 10 papers, a book, and a patent. Recently, he has been working as a sessional instructor for multiple 1st and 2nd year Electrical Engineering courses.

Abdulwadood’s strong passion for instrumentation and biosensing, and their potential in improving healthcare has driven him to join NERv as our embedded engineer. He brings a diverse skill set to our team including Embedded systems design, electronics, analog signal processing, and optimization and modelling.

Outside of work, you’d likely find Abdulwadood watching or playing soccer, catching up with the latest TV series or movies, or capturing the beautiful Canadian nature with his camera.

John possesses combined backgrounds in bioprocess and biomedical engineering. John’s strong love of bioinstrumentation and its application to improve healthcare has driven him to join NERv as our Quality Engineer. He brings a diverse skillset to our team including bioinstrumentation research and development, design control of medical devices, and quality management system (QMS) improvement.

Prior to joining NERv, John has been successful in many core R&D and Quality roles, spanning from sessional lecturer/principal investigator for Biomedical Instrumentation Design at the University of Guelph, to a Quality and Food Safety Specialist at MARS Global PetCare, and then to an R&D Engineer and Design Control owner at Young Innovations.

Outside of work, you’d likely find John playing guitar, learning a new recipe, or enjoying the great outdoors.

NERv is excited to be recognized by The Office of Innovation & Research at Grand River Hospital in their Action, Innovation and Research publication of Summer 2021! GRH will be participating as one of six sites in NERv's global feasibility study on the use of our Inline Device.

NERv is excited to welcome Dr. Joao Rezende-Neto who has joined the executive team as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Joao joins NERv from the University of Toronto. Dr. Joao has been a major part of NERv’s journey for over three years where he started by overseeing NERv’s early studies back in 2018. Dr. Joao has performed more than 10,000 major operations and has more than 100 peer-reviewed publications. Highly regarded in the community as the “inventor surgeon”, his research focuses on the development of medical devices. He also holds 9 patents and has licensed his inventions to the industry. He has also developed two original surgical procedures. He is currently the lead for Device Development and Entrepreneurship in the Department of Surgery at St. Michael’s Hospital.

We welcome Dr. Mustafa Obeidat to NERv Technology Inc. as our Business Development Manager. Dr. Obeidat is a physician turned digital health professional who is passionate about leveraging cutting-edge medical technology to reduce costs and improve patient outcomes. Armed with a deep understanding of the day-to-day challenges physicians face, as well as an understanding of the broader healthcare sector, Dr. Obeidat has supported national transformations in healthcare and social services and has extensive experience in healthcare education. Dr. Obeidat played key roles in establishing KPMG’s healthcare practice in Saudi Arabia and supported pivotal national primary care and COVID reforms across the country. His passion for pursing the latest in healthcare technology led him to NERv, where he leads business development. Outside of work, Dr. Obeidat enjoys long quiet walks in nature or intense sessions on his Xbox.
