We offer our condolences to the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation community who, like other Indigenous communities, were robbed of their land, their language, their culture, and most horrifically, their own children. We also offer condolences to all Indigenous colleagues, staff and students. The School of Education mourns with you. We are committed to walking humbly, listening compassionately, and living justly in our relations with Indigenous peoples. The SOE is committed to being a place of truth-telling and reconciliation in the context of loving relationships.

Looking to further your teaching career? Consider TWU's MA in Educational Studies - Special Education
"I knew I was missing out on opportunities without my Masters. I looked around at graduate programs and chose TWU’s MA in Educational Studies – Special Education. Now I have a greater awareness of my students and how to support their learning needs. My degree has opened the door to professional opportunities. Plus, I’ve shown my daughters that, if I can do something like this, they can too!"

Thinking about graduate programs? Consider TWU's MA in Educational Studies in Special Education (MAES-SPED):
"After completing a diploma in special education and teaching in a District Low Incidence program for several years, I applied to the MAES-SPED at Trinity Western University and couldn’t have been happier with my decision. The faculty were very supportive, and the program significantly deepened my knowledge base. This has had a positive impact on my pedagogy, which now allows me to support all students better. "
- Christine Thygesen, 2019 MAES-SPED graduate

THEME: "Seek the peace & wellbeing of the city"
This year's verse, Jeremiah 29:1-11, is the inspiration for our University theme: Seek the peace and wellbeing of the City.
In Jeremiah 29:7, God calls the people of Israel to be fully and faithfully present even in exile. Work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I have sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare (v7).
We live in a challenging, complex, and disruptive cultural context ("the City"). Our theme verse provides us with a positive counter-cultural vision to engage our cities: pray for their peace, work for their wellbeing, practice faithful presence with everyone we encounter, and model what it means to take our education seriously.
To the best students ever: you've got this! Let the semester begin!
We’re so glad to welcome our Professional Year Program students back to campus! These 29 teacher candidates begin their orientation with OMADA team building challenges. Through a high ropes course and an amazing race they learned about themselves and each other. After this week on campus it’s into practicums on September 8.
