The180 Kids did another wonderful job this year helping us celebrate the Christmas season. They reminded us of the hope, joy, peace and love that Jesus brings to the world.

This past week our grade schoolers also learned about Paul while he was shipwrecked.
Just like Paul, when bad things happen, you can have faith that God is with you.
OUR MONTHLY MEMORY VERSE
“God’s grace has saved you because of your faith in Christ. Your salvation doesn’t come from anything you do. It is God’s gift.” Ephesians 2:8

This week our preschoolers learned about Paul being shipwrecked. Even though Paul had so many hard moments, he still chose to love like Jesus and tell people that Jesus wants to be their friend forever. And that’s what we can do, too, because Jesus wants to be our friend forever.

On Sunday we continued our humility theme of putting others first. It’s easy to get so wrapped up in what’s going on in our lives that we forget to pay attention to what happens around us. But if we want to put others first, we need to be willing to stop what we’re doing and notice the people around us. The kids were given random craft supplies and challenged to make a seeing device’ The ‘seeing devices’ they made made can remind them to pay attention and put others first because Jesus put us first.”

Our grade schoolers started a new theme this month on humility. If we want to live with humility, God can help us grow from the ground up. We can choose to put others first. Jesus models this by washing his disciples feet.
Each week the kids will add a leaf to our humility tree. Swipe left to see what some kids wrote.

Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lent season. Talk to your kids tonight about what they learned on Sunday and the meaning of Ash Wednesday. What does it mean to be reminded that we are only human and that we sin? How can Jesus help us when we are tempted to do something we shouldn’t? Take a few minutes to pray with your kids as you begin to prepare your hearts for what Jesus did for us on the cross ❤️
