Hello Everyone, I thought it’s a good time to say hi 👋 again to all my followers. I'm Soba Kaluthota and my epoxy resin functional art brand is 'Ridma', it means rhythms, in my first language, Sinhaleese.

A bit about my personal life….. I was born and lived most of my life in the island nation Sri Lanka. I moved to Canada with my husband and 2 baby girls in 2010 to pursue graduate studies. I’ve earned my Masters in Biology and currently working as an instructor in environmental sciences at a post secondary institution.

Painting and creating art always make me relaxed and happy. Although, I haven’t had any formal fine-art education, I've never missed a learning opportunity. I have been a member of the Lethbridge Artists Club since 2016. Training workshops and constant practice of new techniques continues to improve my skills. All my epoxy resin functional art works are unique and one of a kind, inspired by the ocean and beach. They will bring the ocean to your home, that heals your heart, mind, and soul. 

As an artist, I want to share the beauty and patterns in nature to raise awareness of protecting these precious resources. Whether it is thousands of miles away from us or at our doorstep, our actions affect nature. Only we can protect this beautiful earth.

I’m excited to announce all my artwork will be available exclusively Calgary, as an artist represented by the gallery. Charcuterie boards, resin coasters and trinket dishes will be among the products.

That means I will not be at handmade markets for the time being. I will miss handmade markets the most. After doing nearly 30 markets in Lethbridge, Fort Macleod and Pinchercreek since 2019, it was time for a change. Some artworks will be available through my website in the future, to pickup in Lethbridge. I will still be able to accept custom orders through the gallery.

Ocean waves charcuterie board with custom laser engraving. This was one of my last Canadian Cherry hardwood boards.

Tomorrow is my last market for the season. So excited to be at my 14th since June 2019.

My daughters will be there with soy/coconut candles in coconut shells. A huge shoutout to Sri Lankan community in Lethbridge for their support collecting coconut shells for my kids. Coconut is a major ingredient in our Sri Lankan cuisine. There are many other kidpreneurs at the market.
