How's everyone doing out there? It's been awhile! Just popping into let you know I have some yarns, fibre and woven/knit items at the Allied Arts Council Lethbridge shop! It's full of beautiful work by local artists!
The AAC works website has launched! Beautiful work by local artists.
I won't be doing any markets this year, BUT I have put a lot of handspun/dyed yarns, spinning fibres and wearables at the Allied Arts Council Lethbridge shop. I will post a few photos in the comments! https://fb.watch/22CvFRmVwn/
Anyone need yarn? 😉 I have been trying to decide if I should go back on Etsy, sell local, FB marketplace... Anyways, you get first dibs because I can't decide. Let me know what you're looking for-- I have much more than this. I also have batts for spinning!
Finished yarn! I washed, dyed and spun these up. What will be their destiny now?!
Back on the wheel with some of my freshly carded batts! Now, do I chain ply this to keep the colour gradation OR ply the 2 ends together to make a barber pole?! Decisions, decisions!
Slowly going through my stash. I've got lots of yarns thrifted or given to me that needed a makeover. I overdyed these cottons and they are so cute!
It's also a great time to catch up on UFOs. I have several rag rugs I wove at .weavers that needed to be hemmed so here I am checking another item off my list!
Looking at the positive! A bit of extra free time these days gives me time to work through my kind of overwhelming fleece stash. When people know you love to create with wool, you end up with all sorts of stuff! The plan is some marathon batt making and spinning once I get through it all. @ Lethbridge, Alberta
It's a great weekend for arts in the Lethbridge community! In addition to having items with the Lethbridge Weavers studio as part of Christmas at Casa 2019, I also have a selected number of items including handwoven cowls, knit toques and handspun & dyed yarns at the new AAC Works shop at the Allied Arts Council Lethbridge. Downtown Lethbridge will be the place to be tonight and tomorrow!
My handwoven tea towels and dishcloths! These will be available at the Lethbridge Weavers studio at Christmas at Casa 2019 this Friday and Saturday. These make thoughtful, heirloom quality gifts that are multi functional. If cared for, they last a long, long time. Come check these out along with lots of other stunning items from our talented weavers.
So, I've been absent for the last little bit: life and family and sore wrists and other things have been keeping me busy. I am still creating, though- learning more weaving and doing other personal projects. Although I won't have my own booth at Christmas at Casa 2019 this weekend, I will have some weaving and yarns with the Lethbridge Weavers! Come grab what's left of my yarns (these days) and check out all the woven goodies!
If you are out and about this Friday and Saturday for , stop by arts Allied Arts Council Lethbridge (both upstairs and downstairs) to check out some of my work! Upstairs I have my woven sketches seen here, and downstairs in the aac works shop, I have yarns, handwoven cowls and knit toques (you're going to need them very soon I hear 😕)
The new shop at now carries a selection of my yarns! A little bird told me that for First Friday today, they'll be having some free coffee and a woodturning demo. Be sure to check out this new shop featuring fine local craft and art!

The first yarn made from my alpaca fleece! Carded with bits of colour and scraps from my fibre stash. It's sooo soft. Now, what to knit with it?! My go to is always hats 😄
Back at it! It's been awhile since I've woven at .weavers. Some people say it's repetitive and boring, but I find it meditative and centering. This is an m&o's baby blanket pattern.
Did a thing and bought an alpaca fleece! Thank you I can't wait to wash it up and start playing!
My guild is turning 70! It's been fun helping plan this special day, as well as some limited edition handwoven tea towels for the occasion. Come join the celebration this Sunday in Lethbridge!
Self-imposed personal weaving & mental health retreat, day 1. In the rocky mountains tagging along with my husband on a work trip. No kids, no dog, no housework or cooking. Brought a big bag of yarn and some simple supplies!
Beautiful yarns coming off the wheels for the spinners! 50/50 wool-alpaca

A little sketch. My intention is to do more of these woven tapestry sketches- no pressure for a finished product, but instead just to have fun with the process and materials.
Tomorrow! This will be the last of my yarns and whatnot for a while. Come get yourself some pretties for your next fibre or textile project and check out all the great supplies Karla has!
It's been quiet around the yarny part of my life lately- but has graciously invited my to participate in next month. I'm so looking forward to it!

Here's that batt from the other day- all spun up and soaked. Just a simple 1 ply collagey art yarn. It's nice to spin again.

It's been quiet around the yarny part of my life lately- but has graciously invited my to participate in next month. I'm so looking forward to it!
This hat is my go-to, year after year. Hand dyed, spun and knit by yours truly. The dye did some weird things but I like what happened! It's my warmest, softest hat- perfect for this deep freeze we're currently experiencing. Hats are definitely my favourite thing to knit or crochet- what about you?
Self care Sunday- a little change in plans for this yarn.
A new project for me! Challenging myself with some leafy lace- combined with some of my hand dyed sparkly yarn.
My finished friendship squares for the Lethbridge Weavers confluence friendship blanket project. These will be exchanged with the other guild members, then each member takes their collection of 9 squares and sews or attaches them together to make a blanket- or something else! Watch for the finished items at this year's conference in Prince George!
Some new yarns added in my available stock. Lots to choose from- handspuns, dyed and even some cottons! Perfect for a last minute stocking stuffer for those knitting, crocheting and weaving folks in your life :) Details are in comments
These are my current available yarns- I won't be doing any more markets in 2019, so I am making them available online. For those of you in , we can arrange a pickup at no charge. If you live outside the city, I can certainly ship- but can't guarantee holiday delivery times!
There's nothing better than a basketful of handspun yarns! these beauties are all available, DM me for details 🎁❄💜
I recently spent some time with my daughter's class exploring fibre. We blended dyed wool on the drum carder (and all took turns cranking it!) And then wet felted little acorns- and then with the direction of the kids, acorn people. I am always in awe of kids and their innate artistic abilities.
My guild, the Lethbridge Weavers has a booth at Lethbridge Handmade Market on Saturday. We've all been busy weaving and creating some beautiful work. I've got a few more cowls ready as well as handspun yarns, a crocheted rainbow shawl and a few other goodies. Come by for a visit, you won't leave disappointed!
