Young London is actively working on some exciting new developments for youth ages 15-29. Wether you are in interested in learning about civic-engagement, social issues, building connections, and / or research we are working on something for you.

As a result of participating in our programs, youth will have the opportunity to develop new skills, increase leadership capacity, understand how to better advocate for themselves, increase employability, and discover new ways to access the job economy.

A look back @ our first two drop in sessions of the summer!

Our first week we explored some of the issues we care about and see around us! Check out the mind map we built on slide two to see our exploration of the causes of issues and pathways forward!

Yesterday we brainstormed as a group different ideas for enhancing local environmental sustainability. We discussed natural corridors to connect our Environmentally Significant Areas and learned about SWOT analyses!

Youth from London came together to share their experiences, challenges, and hopes for the future. From discussing the unique problems and issues they face to envisioning a stronger community, some truly powerful voices were heard.

Join us for an exciting and engaging event designed to amplify youth voices and shape the future of Young London! We want to hear from teens, young adults, and 30-somethings about their experiences, ideas, and visions for our community.

🗓️ Date: Tuesday, June 4th, 2024
🕔 Time: 4:30 PM - 8:30 PM
📍 Location: Innovation Works, 201 King St, London, ON

This event is open to youth ages 13-35, with specific focus groups for:
Teens (13-17): Connect, learn, and get involved in the community outside the classroom.

Young adults (18-29): Share experiences, build a supportive community and amplify each other’s voices.

30-Somethings (30-35): Provide wisdom, guidance, and help elevate the next generation of young leaders.

What to expect:
Facilitated activities and conversations: Participate in interactive, experiential, and fun discussions.
Graphic recording: Witness Emma Richard (https://emmarichard.ca/) capture your ideas artfully.
Food and snacks: Enjoy delicious treats while you engage with others.

Excited to announce our new Executive Director, Nikita Miller. With a background in non-profits, Nikita brings a wealth of experience to Young London. In her own words, "I am very passionate about creating youth experiences and amplifying youth voices. Young people are often underestimated but such a powerful part of our communities., I am excited to invite in youth voices, increase their involvement in decision-making places, and leverage our collective experiences as we lead Young London into this next chapter."

Nikita has firsthand experience with Young London’s programs, having participated in the Youth on Boards program, which left a lasting impression on her. She expressed excitement about reintroducing and enhancing this program, connecting with schools, and understanding the evolving needs of our community's youth.

We're looking forward to Nikita's leadership and commitment to amplifying young voices in our community.
