While we've been busy with the domes, our trusty cottage down the street has been playing host to guests exploring the South Shore.

Summer at the cottage is filling up fast. We're expecting visitors from all over North America this summer, which is a big win for local businesses (and for us too)!

Before the deck rail, hot tub and patio furniture, I captured this moment of sea and sky.

A good kitchen is the heart of any home (or dome), right? So when we were dreaming up our dome design, we really focused on the kitchen; bringing that cozy, seaside vibe with all the creature comforts too!

The result? A dishwasher, a range, and a full fridge. Yep, we went all in, no compromises. A recent guest shared the sweetest feedback, saying it was the best equipped kitchen dome they'd laid eyes on. We'd like to think it's not just well-equipped, but darn adorable too!

This dome was built for these type of slow mornings (literally). 😊

We've been enjoying this view for more than a year, so it feels sorta unreal that we'll be sharing it with guests this weekend.

Welcome to The Lookout Domes!

I love how sweet this little room has turned out. Designed for kids, but comfortable for teens and adults too. We're so thankful that groups of all sorts have decided to make their vacation memories with us. 🥰

Now, if someone asks if I own a boat, I can say, "Yes"!

Thrifted this, and a few other nautical tchotchkes, that I think add warmth and character to The Lookout.

My goal is for our guests to feel at home with little touches that are purely fun or pretty. This tiny schooner ticks both boxes!

Nestled beside a forest and overlooking the ocean, this cozy home offers the best of both worlds. Either way you look, the view is amazing!

Flashback to 2021 and our first summer at The Lookout. Along for the ride (literally, since we drove from Ontario) was our 18 year old cat, Monkey Man. It turned out to be his last summer with us and I like to think he had one last hurrah; going to the beach, hissing at neighbour cats, laying in the grass and listening to the birds. 😺🌈

The Lookout's ocean view truly is the star of the show. But let me tell you, the real hidden gem is the forest next door!

From birds to deer and foxes, it's a wildlife lover's dream. The best part? It's constantly changing and there's always something new to discover, no matter the season.

Wonder why we named this place, The Lookout? 👀 It's the view!
Depending on the season of the time of day, this view is always changing. Mother nature always putting on a show.

While on holidays are you Team Take-out or Team Cooking?

There are so many amazing places to eat on the South Shore, that I'm 100% Team Take-out. But, if you're a lover of the culinary arts, then we've got you covered too. This kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for meals big and small. 🍽

This old shed on our new property could totally be the coolest bunkie. It's got four walls, a roof, an ocean view... and some existing residents. 🐭🧀

Things are slowly progressing here at our new property. Lots of exciting plans that we're looking forward to sharing soon. Thanks so much for following along!

The forecast says sun, which means it's time to start thinking about our outdoor spaces again. I just hope I didn't jinx things and this triggers a snow storm 😳🤞🤞

The days are getting longer and warm summer nights seem to be on the horizon! In the meantime we'll keep things cozy with the fire blazing and coffee stockpiled for the weekend.

I recently had the opportunity to make a solo trip to The Lookout.

All. By. Myself!

It was my first time enjoying this space without my whole gang in tow.

And, in addition to finally watching what I wanted to watch on the tv, it was amazing to see how peaceful and serene this space can be. 🌸

Good morning from the South Shore. All set this morning to welcome guests for a forecasted sunny (but cold!) weekend. This sunny spot next to the fireplace is a great spot to take in the view and stay cozy!
