Elmwood Winery
We are a small winery tucked away in Pine Grove, Lunenburg County. We do not use pesticides or herbicides in the growing of our grapes.
We produce red, white and rosé wines. We are currently only open by appointment. Thanks to Bruce and Sandra for creating Elmwood Winery and selling it to us in February 2017.
The grapes are loving the heat.
Catching up on sharing
A winter wonderland blanketing the vines
And so it begins....
Want some local wine to go with your local Thanksgiving dinner? We are open today and tomorrow 12-5.
We are getting paved so sorry, not able to open this weekend.
Hoping the weather will improve as the day goes on so delaying opening until 2pm today.
Come and enjoy our vineyard while you taste our wine. We will be open Saturday and Sunday 12-5 until Thanksgiving and after that only by appointment. it doesn't get much more local than this!
Today's the day we are labelled and ready to sell wine from our 2017 harvest. Thank you to Anna Bald for the artwork, Alex (our winemaker) for her motivation and grest wine, Lori and Linda at Lighthouse Publishing for their patience and everyone else who has helped us with tending the vines in the last year( you know who you are). Please come and taste the result of a lot of hard work. We have a white, a rose and 3 wonderful red wines for purchase only at Elmwood Winery, Pine Grove. Open today and tomorrow 12 - 5 pm each day.
Thank you to everyone who managed to find their way to us yesterday, despite the challenges. We enjoyed meeting all of you and sharing our space and wine with you.
Help us free up space in our wine cellar. We are open today and tomorrow 12-5pm. We grow all the grapes that go into our wines without the use of herbicides or insecticides. We hand w**d, hand harvest and use minimal sulphites in our wine. We'd love to show you around the vineyard and share our wine with you.
We are opening today! 12-5 We'd love to see you. From now on we will be open to sell our wine every weekend 12-5 .
Thanks for the concern that many people expressed about the recent frosts. Good news I see we had minimal frost damage and our vines are pruned, w**ded, fed, tied and looking good. Almost ready to start selling our first all-our-own wines. Highway signs going up soon so you can find us.....
I decided I needed to walk about and take some photos before the forecasted frost tonight. We survived Monday nights frost so fingers crossed for tonight. Thanks everyone who've been calling and checking in to see how we're doing.
I know I should be posting what's going on but the photo might give you a clue as to how we've been spending our time since February. It's the beginning of a new growing season and we feel like we almost know what we're doing this year. Lots of fun! This week we will be bottling and we're working on a new label too. I'm still trying to get new highway signs in place so you can find us when we open sometime in June...date still to be determined. Hope to see you then.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a special wish for those of you have helped us, supported us, and enjoyed our wine this year. Cheers!
It was a large picking, crushing and pressing day today at Elmwood. Thanks so much to those lovely people who helped: Marlene, Don, Jacqui, Terry, Richard, Mary, Anna, Gavin, Alex, and Jeff. We could not have done it without you! Cheers🍷
All wrapped up and waiting patiently....looking forward to beginning harvest later this week. Exciting times!
Sunday September 24th, 12-5 is the last day we'll be open this year...Spread the word. Our wine is made with our own grapes, which are grown without using herbicides or insecticides. We have a lovely L'Acadie (white), a smooth Leon Millot (red) and a wonderful blush wine for sale...come and taste for yourself.
We are open today and tomorrow 12-5 for tasting and purchase ( if you like the taste!). Only two more weekends and then we'll be closed as it's harvest time... and too cold! stock up for Christmas of local, naturally-grown wine! Looking forward to seeing you.
Such a beautiful end-of-summer day. Thanks to our good friends Cecile and Dick Scott for helping us with more netting today. Good to see Natalie all the way from Yellowknife! Only a couple more weekends to go before we shut up shop for tastings (free by the way). Right now this is the only place you can buy our grown-on-site, naturally grown ( no herbicides or insecticides used here) wine. We'd love to see you next weekend.....
We will be open for tasting and selling Sunday 10th 12-5 only this weekend. It's a busy time of year! The summer house is now "netting control centre" as we try to protect the grapes from the birds and creatures who are sure we've grown just for them!
The grapes are turning colour! Exciting! Busy netting and putting up the raccoon fencing but not too busy to open for wine tasting and sales again this weekend. Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Hope you can come and see us🍷😀
Hoping you might find time this weekend to sit and sip some wine with us...and maybe buy a bottle too. We will be open Saturday and Sunday 12-5. 🍇🍷
We took a trip to see, and taste, other vineyards and wines in the Valley. Pretty sure we are the smallest small farm Winery in Nova Scotia!! 🍇
We are open again Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th - that's this weekend- for wine tasting and/or purchase. 12-5pm. Hope you can come and find us tucked away in Pine Grove. Follow the signs.......🍷🍷🍷🍷
