She is a unique one in my clientele, in that her sessions entail just red light therapy. So, we customize a red light spot treatment plan for her areas in need, and she absolutely loves it 😍

Maverick enjoyed his last session of the program today, and I want to thank him and his Mom, Bethany, for being such fun partners to work with for the summer! Hoof abscess assistance 101!

When one of today’s morning clients came up sore yesterday with a suspected abscess, of course her owner opted to add a hoof spot treatment to her regular full-body session. Why? Because Magnawave promotes increased circulation and oxygenation in the blood, enabling the body to better heal itself. This increased circulation can help move the abscess along by pulling it closer to the surface of the hoof. In this mare’s case, we combined a hoof block application with a direct application using the zoom paddle. An all-natural way to support your horse and bring some much needed relief!

Happy Friday! Today I’m featuring a very multi-talented mare who does a bit of everything, and does it well!

Meet Ropps May June (AKA Ginger). She is a 20-year-old Percheron mare who is as versatile as they come. She, her Mom, and many of her barn mates joined the Magna-Care family a year and a half ago. You can watch Ginger do a 3rd level English dressage test, a fun Western dressage test, see her on the trails, see her driving at the Fall Fairs, or see her showing in-hand at the Royal Winter Fair! What a portfolio of talents!

This mare melts into MagnaWave sessions every time I work on her, and goes into total droopy lip, sleepy-eyed mode. It has been so lovely working with her and her entire family!

… because the “Friday Athlete Spotlight” series isn’t just for competitors. Today we’re featuring a trail master!

Everyone meet Trinity! An absolutely lovely 8-year-old Quarter Horse x Paint mare who epitomizes the term “unflappable.” I’ve personally known this mare for 5 years, and her Mom for 15 years, and they have both been a wonderful part of the Magna-Care family since its creation! Trinity was purchased with the hope to be a great trail athlete. Her Mom previously competed on the Trillium Circuit, but was looking for a different riding lifestyle for her next mount. She couldn’t have asked for a more perfect match! Together they have travelled to some cool spots (some of which I’ve actually had the pleasure of joining them on!)… Hilton Falls, Ganaraska Forest, Dundas Valley, Mono Cliffs, Saugeen Bluffs, Vivian Forest, Caledon Rail Trail, Puslinch Tract, Rockwood Trail Trials, to name a few. And together they have confidently tackled rivers, bridges, forests, lookouts, switchbacks, rail trails, meadows, ponds, snow, kids, strollers, bikes, dogs, and the alike… all in an effortless way! A super fun and very athletic mare. Here’s to more happy trails, Trinity!

magna-care pemf therapy has a very special Birthday to celebrate today… our first born, Hemi, turns 14 🥳 Yup, you read that right… this Valley Bulldog is 14! And of course he is !

Some of you may be wondering what a Valley Bulldog is. It’s a Boxer x English Bulldog mix that originated in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. We first fell in love with the breed when friends of ours had one, and sure enough their neighbour happened to have a litter available. Hemi was the only pup unspoken for because he was the quiet, passive, and less playful pup. But what a gem he was and still is. He has been an old soul since day 1… kind, patient, easy going, cuddly. The perfect first pup for us, and the one who got us hooked on the Bully breeds. We have since had 3 other Valleys, and of course our full Boxer, Ryker! Hemi has been on such a journey with us… our first rental together, buying our first house, buying our farm, getting engaged, getting married, the creation of Magna-Care, and all of life’s other niceties in between ♥️ Thanks for being the rock in our world Hemi!

This pretty boy is coming in for some senior wellness sessions as he enters his golden years. Having turned 7 this year, and being a large breed dog, his Mom wants to get ahead of any stiffness or mobility changes he may have as he ages, so has started a program for him now. Love this preventative wellness approach!

This week’s Athlete Spotlight goes to Dreamin’ Tonight, a 13-year-old Quarter Horse mare who came all the way from Alberta as a youngster! She can be considered a Western Trail class and Cowboy Games expert, and is also affluent in completing Trail Trials as well! Her and her rider/owner spend their summers competing at the Rockwood Trail Riders shows (which are super welcoming and fun by the way!), and spend their winters enjoying some downtime. This mare enjoys PEMF and Red Light therapy twice per month throughout the summer to support her through pre-competition, and the recovery afterwards, and has been a lovely magna-care pemf therapy client since 2022!

Everyone meet Zazu! He joined the Magna-Care family nearly three years ago, and definitely wins for being the most chatty during his PEMF therapy sessions. I love it! He is a 6-year-old Giant Schnauzer who is an athlete of all kinds. Along with his usual routine of hiking and trail riding with his Mom, he has also been dock diving this summer, and taking part in CKC sprinter events! Got to spend time this morning with magna-care pemf therapy’s eldest canine client, aptly named Crystal to match her stunning blue eyes! Can you believe she is 16-years-old?!

She enjoys a mobile monthly session in her home, to support her hind end strength and mobility as she continues to age. But don’t let her age fool you… her owner told me today she is still darting across the yard when she sees a critter and still enjoys her daily walks. You go girl! 💕
