Our Story
I founded QEA about 9 years ago with the vision of creating a warm, supportive academic place to nurture students to academic excellence, originally called Lee Tutoring. It was a lot of work, and exciting! Some of our students were ranked Top 15 in Canada. Many of our students were accepted into great University programs (Waterloo Engineering, Queen’s commerce, Wilfrid Laurier, Western Ivey) with scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $23,000. It is an exciting and rewarding journey.
QEA is about academic excellence. We nurture and push students to reach their potential. It’s about building the foundation, running the extra mile, dedication and hard work. It’s not just about the top kids. We have also turned around many students who were underperforming. We once had a kid who was a high school dropout who was accepted into York University business after working with us! I remembered another one who came to me 2 years ago. He was in grade 11 and almost failed math. He had a fight with his father in my room, in the first meeting! He enrolled in our tutoring and private credit course program. Over the year he changed, and you can see him gaining confidence. He became dedicated and diligent – he finished grade 12 with 89% average, got admitted to Wilfrid Laurier BBA (coop), and is now doing well. J
