Youth Transitions Moncton
YTP aims to help youth overcome barriers through 1-on-1 support, mentorship, and workshops
If you feel like you need some extra support with your homework, like you’re not sure what your options are after you graduate, or you’d just like to have another supportive adult in your life, our peer mentorship program might be the program for you! 👉
We are currently looking for mentees (ages 12-19) to participate in our free after-school peer mentorship program!
Mentees will have weekly one-on-one or group meetings with volunteer mentors after school in homework clubs. Mentors will act in a supportive role to help you with homework, help you gain a greater awareness of the next steps after high school, and help you boost the necessary skills to take those steps. 🪜
This may involve discussions around aspirations, coping skills, and academic preparedness. Mentors may also help guide you through the challenges of transitioning between high school and post-secondary, and the process of applying to post-secondary. 📚
If this sounds like something you’d like to participate in, please contact: [email protected]
With a new year often comes a new list of goals and aspirations.
This year, why not add self-care to your list? 🤷♀️
Self-care doesn't always look like bubble baths or trying out a new skin care routine, although it certainly can be! 🛀
Self-care can also look like setting clear boundaries with loved ones, asking for help when you're struggling, implementing positive-self talk into your daily routine, allowing time for rest, moving your body in a way that makes you feel good, trying out a new activity, starting a thought or gratitude journal, learning to say 'no' to things that drain your energy, practicing mindfulness, getting some fresh air, calling a friend when you're in need of some support, and learning to make time for yourself. 🙌
Did you know that by using positive affirmations, you may be able to improve your emotional well-being? That’s right! Some studies suggest that the consistent use of positive daily affirmations can increase resiliency and improve self-esteem.
If you’re open to it, consider giving these daily affirmations a try or coming up with your own! 🌟
Start with some positive things you that you already believe about yourself, that others believe about you, or that you think you could learn to believe about yourself. If you can believe it, you can achieve it. 💫
You deserve some kindness in your life, and it can start with you being kinder to yourself. ✨
If you’d like to learn about more ways to increase resiliency and improve self-esteem, send an email to Brianna or Baruch at [email protected] to inquire about booking a one-on-one or group workshop.
Are you feeling a little anxious or overwhelmed?
Try this grounding exercise to help bring you back to the present moment: name 5 things you can see, 4 things you can feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste.
Take your time and try not to worry about not being able to come up with an answer for all the categories. Try your best. You’ve got this! The goal is that by the end of the exercise, you will hopefully feel a little bit calmer and more grounded in the present.
If you’re between the ages of 12-19 and would like to learn more grounding exercises and mindfulness techniques, you can try our life skills workshops on Adulting, Anger Management, or Mindfulness.

Does it feel like you have a lot on your plate? Are you looking for a little extra support in your life? The Youth Transitions Program offers one-on-one support services with a Youth Support Worker (YSW) for youth ages 12-19. YSWs work with youth to help them achieve personal goals, overcome barriers to positive well-being, and transition from one life stage to the next.
How does it work? Youth can be referred to by schools, community organizations, or if you are 13+, you can self-refer. Once you’ve been approved for a meeting with one of our YSWs, participants are asked to fill out an intake form so we can get a better idea of what kinds of services they need. Then, you and the YSW will meet several times to discuss and work through your goals, barriers, or transition.
Does this sound like something you would be interested in? Use the link below to fill out a referral form and send your completed form to Brianna or Baruch at [email protected]

📌You may be wondering, what is the Youth Transitions Program (YTP)?
YTP is a community program that gives youth between 12 and 19 a sense of belonging through one-on-one support and mentorship, and offers workshops to develop the life skills they need to be healthy, stable adults.
📌How does it work?
Using a trauma-informed and strength-based approach, young people gain resiliency, cultivate positive mental well-being, and gain the capacity to reach their fullest potential. 💪
Participants are encouraged to determine their goals and are guided on their journey to meet them with the help of our Youth Transition Support Workers, Baruch and Brianna.
As well as one-on-one support, the Youth Transitions Program offers life skills workshops presented to groups and classes. The topics are as follows:
•How to Adult
•Anger Management
•Post-Secondary Preparation
•Learning To Breathe (Mindfulness)
Finally, YTP provides volunteer peer mentoring services. The mentors will work with participants in homework clubs to gain a greater awareness of the next steps after high-school and boost the success necessary to take those steps. This is a great opportunity for both the participants and the mentors. 📚
