Hi everyone!
The History Department is looking for 5 non-graduating people to help with the graduation celebration in Birks Foyer this Tuesday, June 6th with times ranging from 9 AM to 4 PM. We will need help setting up food and drinks as well as clean up!

On Monday (30 Jan.), undergraduate students are invited to attend a teaching demonstration – the subject, “The New Deal” – from 1:00 to 2:00pm, also in LEA 738.
As well, on Friday (3 Feb.), the subject will be “Politics and Belonging in the 1920s.”

We are now looking to fill the position of Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of Historical Discourses, the undergraduate journal of the McGill History Department, for the 2022-23 academic year. If selected, you would lead the production and publication of Volume 37 of Historical Discourses.
To qualify for this position, you must:
- Be currently pursuing an Honours, Major, or Minor concentration in History at McGill.
- Have already completed at least two years of study in McGill History.
The deadline to submit is January 13th, 2023 at 11:59 PM EST.

‼️ RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY FOR ADVANCED UNDERGRADUATE AND MA STUDENTS ‼️
Developing a pluri-national history of the continent with the Atikamekw First Nation of northern Québec. Three to four motivated students are sought to work as research assistants for the academic year 2022-2023. They will join a team from the Atikamekw First Nation of Quebec in the development of history curriculum for the nation's high schools.
The specific task for this year is the elaboration of a pluri-national history of the continent, that is, a broad historical survey as seen from the perspective of different indigenous peoples. The Atikamekw are developing this curriculum in partnership with Aymara (Bolivia), Mapuche (Chile), Coast Salish (BC) organizations and communities.
Participating students would work in one of the following areas: document-based research; Compiling, abstracting and synthesizing sources in English, French, and/or Spanish; Liaison and coordination between the larger Atikamekw team and their Aymara, Mapuche, and Coast Salish partners within the McGill-based team; Production of text-based and audio-visual materials for teachers and students of the Atikamekw high schools.
We are looking for students with strong and demonstrable skills in research and writing, media production, graphic design, team-organizing. Excellent French and/or Spanish is a must. Students can work as part time RAs, for independent research study credits in History or LACS, or both.
