I’ve been MIA for a bit, things got really rough temporarily for me, went through 2 weeks of homelessness and did a big move while falling back into addiction.
The positive thing is I picked myself back up and worked really hard to get back to the province I was born in, closer to my family.

It was hard work and it really wore me down, but I’m healthy again and doing positive things and taking my beadwork out again, it’s honestly saved me more than once. I’m grateful I have instruments and art supplies to go back to again and again.

Anybody Ever Like Someone in high school, but never had the nerve to tell them or even talk to them for that matter? Yup that's me! Well 13 years later he asked me out! I still almost can't believe, like pinch me I have to be dreaming? Anyways, my Significant other requested a single stud earring with a black opal he picked out. I can't finish it until I order some earring studs, but this is the base. Done with palladium plated 15/0 miyuki, 13/0 Charlotte Cuts, and a small black opal that flashes green/blue in the light. Gave me an idea on what to do with my single opals that don't have matching pairs.

Lately I have had a few people mention the price of my latest pair of earrings (Not too many, but enough I feel the need to explain), So I want to reiterate that even I have sticker shock sometime when I finish a pair of earrings, The prices are higher than the average beaded earrings because the price of my materials are higher than the average pair, I use specialty gemstones, especially Opals, That are expensive stones, especially black opals. The cabs I use also aren't cheap, I prefer to use sterling, gold, and gold plated metals, I also prefer to use smaller and specialty seed beads, which can be more expensive than size 11/0 and up.

Quick pair of earrings done in between finishing my other Pastel Spring owl Earring. I had 2 lonely different coloured Agate Cabs so I made them different but matching at the same time.

This was quite tedious trying to find size 15/0 thin enough to fill the tight spaces. But got the first earring of the set done for the Beading Inspiration spring challenge.

Finally finished the most tedious part of these earrings, the beading. Had to dig out lots of super thin beads of different colours just to fill some of the spaces. Now to edge, with multiple different gemstones.

Custom Earrings as a gift from a mother to her daughter for Mother’s Day. I was given green as a favourite colour and she requested ermine tails. Edged with Adventurine gemstone beads and backed with olive deerskin. Also threw a couple 24K gold beads in there too.

Finished the first of a pair of custom request earrings. They are a gift from a mother to her daughter on Mother’s Day. She wanted green with snowy owls and Ermine tails.

Meg claimed the huge pair of snowy owl starry sky earrings I made a couple months back! Seeing her face light up when I hand delivered them to her was the greatest! 💜

Beading consists of more than design, choosing colours, and sewing beads, I find sometimes I spend hours sifting through different colours looking for those thin enough to fill tight spaces too, and don’t even get me started on when I spill a bunch of beads.

Working on Earrings for a beading group challenge, using this colour palette and a cherry blossom theme.

I Have a Zoom Meeting on Thursday with a new Gallery opening near Victoria. I am excited to have been chosen to showcase my Artwork locally for the first time (except maybe the new bead store in town also has one of my earlier pieces in their case)

The Earrings are edged with yellow tiger eye and blue lace agate, backed with genuine cobra snakeskin. The wire guards are 18k gold plated and the lever back earrings are 925 Sterling silver plated in 18k gold.

Antler buttons with acorns carved on them is the centre piece of these earrings. Size 10/0 and 11/0 seed beads make up the main part. The Fringe is made up of 10/0, 11/0, 15/0 seed beads, Green Dagger beads, faceted smoky Quartz drops in the middle with faceted (A)(M)(B)(E)(R) drops on either side. Edged with unakite gemstone beads. The lever back earrings are 925 Sterling silver plated in 18k gold, the wire guards are Sterling silver. Backed with genuine Snakeskin.

In the past 2 months I recently picked up a second job for extra income to go along with my other job I have been working at Part time for 2 years, while it gives me more income for bills and beading supplies, it’s physically demanding and I generally only have 1 day off every 2 weeks and many days I am so tired after work I tend to fall asleep, between working on the polar bear medallion I am also working on some new carved antler button earrings edged with Unakite with amber/smoky Quartz and dagger bead dangles. These should hopefully be added to my shop sometime next week, I just wish I had more time for beading even though the extra income is great. We can’t have it all I guess.

I haven’t taken progress pictures lately because there are a lot of projects I ended up putting away and not finishing or taken apart to make something else but I couldn’t help myself. This boulder opal goes perfectly with the Auroura Borealis background. I have another ‘icy’ boulder opal for the snow and ice bottom too!
