It was a howling good time! Everyone was excited to be back in action after a week off!

It wasn’t too hot to start off today so this crew did some trail running to get warmed up for their swim. We had all swimmers today! Even Opal who hasn’t built up her confidence (even though she’s a great swimmer) ended up crossing the river with everyone. FOMO is a powerful motivator! Last year Zelda taught Nova to launch & today even Biscuit was going for it! We had a couple of other dogs (no recall) come check us out & everyone listened well while they got rounded up. Summer is finally here! I think this crew was pretty happy about that! All smiles! Quick hike then water play!

The crew showed Watsi a good time today despite the wet conditions. The wettest days are some of the funnest!

Nasty little creatures! Keep an eye out for them as they are out in full force! Monthly oral flea and tick treatment is highly recommended!

Just a reminder that ticks in our region are active all year round. Make sure your pup is up to date on flea and tick prevention & check your pup regularly!

I updated my Pet First Aid course with the help of Zelda & Biscuit who were such good sports being so tolerant allowing me to administer & practice First Aid. I highly recommend this course to pet guardians- it covers cats & dogs. So well-organized & informative! Thank you instructor Valerie for a fun, enjoyable day!

Made a couple of stops along our hiking route. The river is so low but we found a few puddles to splash around in at our selected swim spot. The crew explored the rocks and teetered on a few. Everyone kept their listening ears on!

Such antics out of this small but mighty crew! I have to say Biscuit took the award for the silliest! 🤪 It was an outing filled with good fun! They ran, they swam, (they slid into home base-ahem, Biscuit) they played to their hearts content. 💕

It was a long loop today! This crew enjoyed some splash time in puddles & ponds! 💦
The did great with their recall drills & sit stay practice! We had one encounter with a gentleman with his dog & everyone came to the whistle to leash up & get off to the side of the trail to let them pass holding their sit. Well done woofers!

Well, the dogs had more fun than I did today! 😅 We went to one of our shady routes & just as we were coming to the creek we heard a branch snap! Not a small branch but a big one, I’m sure! Stopped to listen for other tell-tale noise (rustling, grunts, etc) but heard nothing so we continued as it was a ways away. Got down to the stream & heard another snap coming from up on a bluff which by then we were below but not too close too. Dogs began picking up scents but there was still no noises other than more branches snapping! They weren’t alerting to anything so whatever it was had passed through. Could it have been a bear? Perhaps it was a human working on a trail? We didn’t wait around to find out! We got out of there as fast as we could! So needless to say I didn’t take many photos & videos! 😱👣🐻

⛅️ Holy humidity today! It didn’t rain on us but you wouldn’t have known it by the time the hike was done-we were soaked from the wet foliage.

If we had a jungle we found it! One portion of the route was so overgrown with ferns that I kept the crew pack walking behind me because I could not see more than a few feet ahead & they did excellent! They were very happy to have puddles again! 🫠

🏆I have to say I had a very proud moment that I did not catch on video unfortunately! They dogs were all ahead on the trail when we heard a mountain biker’s brakes squeal (turned out to be quite a ways away). Every single dog went on point exactly when I stopped to see where it came from. Then like a synchronized team they ALL came to me without me recalling them! It was perfect & something I’ll lock into my memory bank! Such good pups!
