Fortunately another saw was on hand ready to be chopped up. I cut out sections from it and mig welded them into the one you see here.

My home at 434 Foster St in Nanaimo BC is a "Drop Box" only location 8 am to 8 pm and by appointment only on evenings and weekends.

Delivery turnaround is currently at 1 week. Monday (unless it is a holiday) is the designated day of the week.

3 paring knives and 2 chef knives. The large one with the black handle was the owners original knife from chef school years back. Very cool.

This is an excellent FStools sawblade with flat top ground teeth for ripping wood. It came to me with 9 teeth smashed and ungrindable.

Old ones out, new ones in.

Not usually worth the cost. However with a thicker plate and lots of life left in the remaining carbide, I opted to go for the repair.

The customer will be happy that he won't have to go out, and buy a whole new blade.

Circular saw blade face sharpening of a 12" 60 tooth with carbide teeth in the first video, second is top grinding a 25" 80 tooth blade on a top grinder.
Both are liquid flood cooled during the grinding process. This is great for many reasons...hazarous airborne dust, shop cleanliness and most importantly improved grinding results overall.

These pneumatic machines offer great repeatability and accuracy when grinding saw blades.

We have just been approved by Lowes/Rona Canada to use their Mill Bay store as a drop off depot for sharpening. This is great news and a very exciting opportunity.

I was given these two knives to sharpen and repair the deep chip on this excellent Shun kitchen knife.
After some grinding, sharpening, and polishing it came out really nice. It is now razor sharp and ready for many smooth cuts.

After sharpening it's important to maintain your blades by honing it as it loses sharpness over time through usage.

Though maintenance can extend a sharpened blades life, eventually good knives like this need proper sharpening to be rid of small and deep chips and cracks.

-sized Makita sawblade, un-cleaned and un-sharpened. The other is the same blade after cleaning, but also un-sharpened.

Many blades start cutting poorly when too much buildup occurs. This can and is usually accompanied by a dull cutting edge and mild to moderate plate warpage.

Triple Chip Grind. TCG style saw blades. I worked on a bunch tonight. You have to get the geometry and tooth height correct for these or they won't cut well. Flat tops are lower than the TCG's.

Commonly used to cut non-ferrous metals and composite materials such as laminated particleboard, MDF, hardwoods and other panel materials.

Here is a nice craftsman sawblade. Decent plate thickness, lots of good quality carbide left to sharpen.

After face and top sharpening I was able to take this fine finishing style trim blade from dull to sharp as or sharper than new.

80 teeth x .30 cents = $24.00 total cost.

No matter what the sale price may be, sharpening is still a fraction of the cost of a new blade. 👍💲👌

All carbide tips we're intact and able to be fully restored.

These are some examples of the work I've done in the last few months for customers.

Its nice to restore saws and provide a means of savings for folks who rely on these saws to make a living.

A few blades of various sizes for various purposes ready to cut for another project here in Nanaimo BC. Dipped with a special coating that includes anti corrosion oil additives.

Just in case the saws end up sitting on the shelf the carbide tips are alot less likely to rust or get dull due to corrosion and mishandling.
