Donโt Let Your Holiday Spark a Tragedy!
As we deck the halls with boughs of holly, itโs crucial to remember fire safety, especially when it comes to real Christmas trees. Did you know that a dry tree can catch fire and burn faster than newspaper? Keep your home safe and your holidays joyful with these tips:
1. Water Daily: Like any plant, your tree needs water โ and plenty of it! A well-watered tree not only looks better but is far less likely to catch fire. Check the water level daily.
2. Place Wisely: Keep your tree away from fireplaces, radiators, candles, heat vents, and lights.
3. Light Smartly: Use lights rated for indoor use and check for frayed wires or loose bulbs.
4. Turn Off Before Bed: Never leave tree lights on when youโre not home or when youโre asleep.
5. Dispose Promptly: Once the holidays are over, or your tree begins to drop needles, dispose of it. Donโt keep a dry tree in your home or garage.
๐จ Remember, a safe holiday is a happy holiday! Letโs keep our community safe and sound this festive season. ๐จ
