Club Ed is very pleased to bring you another workshop this spring! We are pleased to announce that Sd #79's Corina Fitznar will be presenting a three-part literacy instruction workshop on March 2nd, 4th, and 9th. Link to sign up below!
Corina Fitznar works as the Secondary Coordinator of Instruction and Innovation for SD #79 (Cowichan Valley). She received her B.Ed. from Malaspina University College, as one of its very first PDP cohorts, in 1998. She also has an M.Ed in Early Childhood Education from UVIC. She taught K-12 in Cowichan, North Carolina, Belize, and Mexico. Her secondary specialty areas include: Spanish, art, humanities, English, and social justice. Some of her most cherished teaching experiences include two years with a Reggio Emilia inspired school, using the Stanford Design Thinking model, and Socratic Discussions with Grade 1s and Grade 12s. From her first statement of educational philosophy to now, her key teaching words are: empowerment, agency, and co-construction.
