September's pet of the month in our Pets of Westie calendar is Charlie!

Charlie is our resident Youth House guinea pig. He's a great pet for Westminster House because of his spiritual nature. He loves to smudge and perform other rituals that serve to purify the body, mind, and spirit.

August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day . In Canada in 2023 alone, over 8000 recorded opioid OD's occurred. That's an average of 22 deaths a day.

On Wednesday we had the honor of interviewing Toni Mabey, former President of the Board of Directors of Westminster House Society (formally Julien House Society). Toni volunteered for the house for a number of years, during which she really helped WHS secure a significant grant, got its first ever CARF Accreditation, and really put Westminster House on the map. We are eternally grateful for her tireless dedication during those years and appreciate her taking the time to share this important piece of WHS history.
