“Scripture of the Day”

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew‬ ‭11:28-30‬

A life without Christ can be a very stressful life, even with all the riches and notoriety, you are still in a place of emptiness and void. It is said, “Know God, Know Peace, No God, No Peace.

This is an invitation to the unsaved to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour, and a reminder to the saved, that you need a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to experience rest in all you do. You can’t walk alone!

That’s why Solomon have instructed, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬

Serving the Lord is not stressful, here is what He says, “……My yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Isaiah 41:10 " So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God

“Scripture of the Day”

“And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Job‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭

It’s important for you to know that the devil is questioning your motives. He wants to know what makes you so committed to serving the Lord.

This is not a portion of scripture that I quote frequently, because it’s horrifying to know that our faithfulness to God has so intensely attracted the attention of the devil, that he would show up in prayer meeting to question your motives.

The other horrifying part in this narrative is that God would trust us enough to put us through such rigorous test. So the real question is, does your life exemplifies such sincere qualities that God could undoubtedly trust to put you on trial for His Glory?

May the life you live speak for you!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:
Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12, NIV

Blessed morning:
Have you stopped to consider that today is a special gift from God? Sometimes, our days can be so full and busy that we forget how fragile life really is. It can be easy to allow little things to creep in and steal our peace and joy. Maybe something doesn’t go our way, or someone says something upsetting. Even traffic can cause us to lose focus if we let it. We have to remember that each day is a gift. If we choose to focus on what’s wrong, we’ll miss the blessing that each day has to offer.

Don't let the precious moments of life pass you by. Don’t wait for holidays and birthdays to show people that you care. Remember, each day is unique and irreplaceable. You have been given time that can be invested or wasted; hours that can be used or misused. That’s why the psalmist prayed to God, “Teach us to number our days.” He was saying, “Teach us to value every moment we’ve been given.” As you daily keep a proper perspective, you’ll gain a heart of wisdom. You’ll draw closer to God and experience the full blessing that He has for you each and every day!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, thank You for the gift of today. I choose to focus on the blessing of each moment instead of allowing the little things to steal my joy. Keep me close to You always as I surrender every area of my heart and mind to You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

Blessed morning:
There was a man in the Scripture named Gideon whom God wanted to lead the people of Israel against an opposing army. The angel appeared to him and said, “Hello, Gideon, you mighty man of fearless courage,” I can imagine Gideon looking around thinking, Who is he talking to? Gideon was afraid, intimidated, and insecure. But he was. God called him what he could become. God sees your potential. God knows what you’re capable of. You may feel weak, but God calls you strong. You may be intimidated today, but God calls you confident. You may feel less than, but God calls you well able. If the Angel of the Lord were to appear to you today, He would say the same thing he said to Gideon. “Hello, you mighty man, you mighty woman of fearless courage.”

Why don’t you get in agreement with God and start believing what He says about you?

Help us in all that is good and right, also in our daily work, so that we can be your children and do what you have commanded. May your name be honored at all times, your kingdom come, and your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us the wrong we have done as we forgive those who have wronged us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Blessed morning:
It seems that life always has its ways of bringing us to a place where we need to make a fresh start.
In the Bible, Abram found himself in that very place when his nephew Lot chose the best land in the area, leaving Abram with the less desirable land. But God didn’t abandon Abram. Instead He showed up and gave Abram a bold new vision.
"Look from the place where you are,” that’s the point of a fresh start, a new beginning. God Himself will bring us to that point occasionally.
You might be there right now.

Maybe you want to break a bad habit, revive a lost dream, get a handle on your finances, or start your own business. Whatever it is, God could be telling you to get started right now. This could be your new beginning!

It may not be easy, it might take some time. But trust God and go for whatever it is. Look from the place where you are right now – and go!
Prayer Starter:
God, regardless of what’s happened in the past, help me to look up from where I am now. I thank You for Your new beginning for me. I will boldly step into it and walk out Your calling for me. Amen.

Blessed morning:
Having an attitude of peace and calm is priceless. It’s an attitude that says, ‘I’m trusting God.' It takes time, focus, and the grace of God to be consistently peaceful.

Too often our stress level is tied up in our circumstances. To conquer the stress in
our lives, we need to learn to practice the peace that’s been provided for us by the overcoming power of Jesus.

The Bible tells us that God gives us grace for each day that we live. God’s grace is the power that enables and energizes us to do what we need to do – and He gives it generously, as we need it.

Every day we need to say, ‘God has given me today. I will rejoice and be glad in it.’
If you can learn to trust God ‘in the now,’ receiving His grace as you need it, you can become a truly peaceful person – and that’s powerful.

Prayer Starter:
God, I know that You have overcome any and every obstacle, so I ask You to help me live in the peace that You’ve provided for me. Show me how to trust You as I live ‘in the now.’ Amen.

The Port Dalhousie Lions Club finalized their count from the bottle drive they had last month and officially raised... $4000!
Today those proceeds went towards providing various Niagara residents with 200 baskets of fresh fruit and vegetables. Port Dalhousie Lions bought 100, which they donated directly to RAFT - Empowering Our Youth, Gillian's Place YWCA Niagara Region, Start Me Up Niagara, and Westview Centre4Women. On top of this, Small Scale Farms donates 100 bags to those in need through our Food Fed Forward initiative. That’s 100 bags of food delivered right to the doors of those who need it most.
Thank you everyone in and around Niagara for your help in making this a success, we are each left feeling huge gratitude towards both our crew (each other) and the Lions Club crew, for making it all happen.
From collecting and sorting the bottles straight through to packing and delivering the produce, this group was a great example of how when we work together, amazing things can happen.

Today’s Scripture -

Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man, lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.

Blessed morning:
The number one thing that gets people off course is when they start to run with the wrong crowd. You have to set boundaries around your life. When you hear somebody who's always negative, critical, and finding fault, that's a red flag. Someone who is given to anger and always gets upset is not for you. Don't spend a lot of time with people who are never happy, who don't have integrity, who compromise, who always have problems. You don't want those qualities.

You have a responsibility to protect what God has entrusted you with--your gifts, your assignment, your integrity and character. If you're going to reach your highest potential, you have to surround yourself with eagles, with people who inspire you to bring out your wings, with people who motivate you to soar, people who make you better. But if you're holding on to the chickens, you're never going to meet the eagles. Don't settle for chickens; God has eagles.

Prayer for Today :
Father, thank You for making it so plain that I need to set boundaries and be selective about whom I surround myself with. Help me to protect what You have entrusted to me so I can reach my highest potential. I commit myself to surrounding myself with people who inspire me and make me better. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Blessed morning :
Stability is an important issue for all of us. Jeremiah 17:8 and Psalm 1:3 both instruct us to be like trees firmly planted. We are to be well-balanced and temperate (self-controlled) to keep Satan from devouring us (see 1 Peter 5:8). To withstand him, we must be rooted, established, strong, immovable and determined in Christ.

Jesus is the best soil to be rooted in. You can depend on Him to be stable, the same Jesus all the time, always faithful, loyal, true to His Word and mature. He’s not one way one time and another way the next time. He doesn’t change with circumstances. God wants to give us
power to stay calm in adversity. He wants us to be stable like trees firmly planted, but we choose where we will be planted. Will you be rooted in the world? Your emotions? Your circumstances? Your past? Or will you choose today to plant yourself in Christ? Depend on Him. His stability can be yours today.

Prayer Starter:
God, I want to plant my roots in You. You never change, so I know I can count on You to keep me stable in every circumstance. Amen.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

Blessed morning:
A lot of people are good at taking care of the physical and emotional parts of their lives, but they don’t take care of the spiritual. There’s no or minimal connection to God. Your life will be more fulfilling when you’re in relationship with your Creator. He breathed life into you. He knows what your purpose is. He wants to give you the advantage for success. When you make Him a part of your life, His favor will take you where your talents and abilities cannot take you.

Make your spiritual life a priority. When you get up in the morning, take time to thank God for the day. Don’t run out of the house stressed out, in a hurry. Start the day off with a grateful attitude. Read the Scripture, meditate on His promises, and fill your mind with thoughts of faith, hope, and victory. Put God first and He will crown your efforts with success.

“Father, thank You that You invited me into a relationship with You. I want, in everything I do, to put You first and have You direct my life. Thank You for speaking to me through Your Word. I believe that You will crown my efforts with success. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
