Great tips from Canadian Association for Su***de Prevention - CASP!
Social media can be a wonderful space for connecting with family and friends, sharing moments, and spreading positivity. However, it can also be a platform where we come across content that raises concerns about someone's well-being. But what should you do if you spot something worrying about a friend or acquaintance online? It's crucial to know that your actions can make a difference in someone's life. If you're concerned about someone on social media:
Reach out: Send a private message expressing your care and concern.
Offer support: Let them know you're there to listen without judgment.
Encourage professional help such as reaching out to 9-8-8 by phone or text if in Canada.
Report: If you see content indicating self-harm, threats, or concerning behavior, don't hesitate to report it to the platform. View the links of where to report and learn more about what to do if you are concerned about someone at https://bit.ly/3TPTDBp
Let's make social media a place not just for sharing moments, but also for caring for one another. Together, we can create a supportive online community where everyone feels valued and safe.
