Is it okay to hide things from children? Are we protecting them from “bad” by not talking to them about what’s happening in the world right now ?
It’s actually very important to speak to children about wars, crimes, negative events etc, in a way that is age and developmentally appropriate. Not doing so can make children make up their own stories which can be more scarier and may result in difficult emotions that are not easy to navigate.
Join us live this Sunday to walk through the hows of supporting children through these difficult times.

In the face of hardship, trial & difficulty the emotions mentioned in this post are a normal reaction. Emotions are signalling systems that are asking you to go onwards and checkin with yourself.
So take a moment and go in- if the intensity is too high that you haven’t been able to shake it off, or you’re feeling debilitated, despair, prolonged hopelessness or rage then it’s time to seek some support.
The right emotion and intensity will make you do the right thing !

If you’re holding the pain of what’s happening in the world right now then the appropriate emotions are hurt, sadness, anger and what ever other heavy ones you’re feeling. Emotions should propel you towards something. They’re a communication system telling you to check in with yourself and ensure you’re doing the right thing.
The problem is when emotions go unchecked, unprocessed and uncared for.
So check in with yourselves and ensure you’re at a place of feeling that guides you and not debilitate you.
We health together is something we strongly believe in. Trauma needs a voice, a safe space, a witnessing and a sharing. Connecting with community is paramount when faced with collective trauma.
