Vince Ricci is back to do The Ride to Conquer Cancer once again.

It has been a while since I completed my five year commitment to the RTCC. I went on to support the Tour For Kids for our local cancer camps and reasearch. Along the way, I have also maintained countless efforts in supporting many local charities. Ride for Jack for mental health support offices with phone lines available 24/7; Oakville Hospital; and too many others to list.

This is the tenth anniversary year since my first RTCC and I have lots of friends and family that I have lost to cancer that I need to honour as well as many that have beaten cancer or are currently battling cancer that I must celebrate and rejoice in their brave fight. Without the research that has helped them in their battle, we would not be able to share a laugh and a smile along the way. Life is good. Friends and family are everything.

Vince Ricci is back to do The Ride once again,

The first time I participated in The Ride to Conquer Cancer was in 2009 as a novice rider, full of nerves as I had never attempted 2 days of 100 km. After the success of my inaugural year, I went on to complete the ride four more times, however I did have to take a year off after breaking my leg in 2013. Following the completion of my five-year commitment goal, I went on to support the Tour For Kids cycling charity event for many years as well as countless other charity events that I simply fund on my own. Your overwhelming support and encouragement for all these events has been nothing short of incredible and I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart.

This year, 1o years later after my year, I am once again proud to join the Ride. It is a year to honour friends and family that have been taken by cancer as well as to celebrate and rejoice those are fighting or have beaten cancer.

I honour my cousin Marielisa that passed away last September while I was climbing the mountains of France. I summitted every climb with a tear and smile for her while I looked to the heavens above. I honour my Godfather that passed away recently to cancer. I honour all our friends and their family losses to cancer.

I celebrate and rejoice my Aunt that fought off and beat cancer in the first year that I did this event and all those that battled and won like her.

I celebrate the courage of a wonderful family, that Angela and I are friends with, that are in the middle of a huge battle with cancer across three generations. Our daughter Kira and their daughter Sarah are soccer friends for life which led to us becoming friends with Mario and Louise. Firstly, Sarah lost her grandfather to cancer last year, and then Sarah was diagnosed with the need for her third cancer surgery and she is not even 25 years old yet. Shortly there after, Mario, her father, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia and is currently undergoing a stem cell transplant and treatments from his incredibly generous donor from the worldwide registry. This family is battling cancer and so very thankful that there is research that is giving them a fighting chance. Both Louise and Sarah have signed up for this big ride and I have made it my goal to help them, train them, encourage them and ride every kilometer beside them this year.

I am so blessed that I have the health to ride my bicycle and be able to make a difference for all of us at the same time. Let’s celebrate and rejoice together with our support for cancer patients here in Toronto at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and around the world.

Vincent Ricci I joined The Ride because devoting a weekend to cycling through Ontario is one small way I can make a big difference for cancer patients here in Toronto at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and around the world.

Vince Ricci. I am very blessed to have the health and strength to Cycle around the world. I have climbed many of the mountain passes used in the Pro Tours such as Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and La Vuelta de España. My passion has more importantly allowed me to make a difference in our community to benefit all of us.

This year I will once again be making a difference in many events. Ride for Jack; Ride to Conquer Cancer; Tour de Halton; Power of Ten, and many more .....

The first event coming May 25 is The Ride for Jack.
This is what Ride for Jack is all about:
Jack.org is Canada's only charity training and empowering young leaders to revolutionize mental health.
Through Jack Talks, Jack Chapters, and Jack Summits young leaders identify and dismantle barriers to positive mental health in their communities. Jack.org is working towards a Canada where all young people understand how to take care of their own mental health and look out for each other. A Canada without shame, and where all those who need support, get the help they deserve. With thousands of young leaders across every province and territory in Canada, we’re only just getting started.

I met Jack's father Eric while riding in the Tour 4 Kids charity that I did for four years. We rode together for sometime and he told me about his son Jack that they lost in 2010. Eric and some 70 friends got together in and rode in his memory that year. In 2011, 180 riders rode and in 2012, 309 riders rode and raised $ 98,043 for mental health revolution.

Together, with my awesome group of friends, we have put together Team Munns and have raised over $ 11,000 with a goal of $ 20,000 to reach. Take a moment and check out Ride for Jack at the link: https://jack.org/ride
