Preventing Hairballs in Cats Living with a cat for even the shortest amount of time quickly reveals they have meticulous grooming habits. Cat myth: Cats’ social organization is based on hierarchy and dominance. Myth busted: Cats don't follow strict social orders, and their relationships are based on familiarity and individual interactions rather than rigid structure. Tension among cats can arise from abrupt introductions, competition over resources, or changes in the environment, rather than attempts to establish dominance. Learn more at https://bit.ly/3WwES87.

Does your cat regularly eat wet food? Many cats prefer moist foods to be warmed and offered at, or near, body temperature—which is right about 100F. This also helps enhance the aroma of the food, making it more appealing. For more tips to entice your kitty to eat more, visit https://www.pickyorsick.com/picky/.

Be sure to put away all interactive toys after your play session. The solo toys you leave out for your cat should be safe, with no strings or anything poorly attached that can be chewed and swallowed.

Which bowl is best? 🥣 Plastic might not be fantastic, and metal might not be marvellous. In general, glass or ceramic bowls are better for cats. 🐈

Plastic bowls can scratch easily, and these scratches can harbour bacteria and odours. Stainless steel is hygienic and easy to clean but, if your cat wears a collar, the clink of a disc or bell against the metal can be unpleasant for them. Metal bowls could also have a cooling effect on food, which is not ideal as their natural diet would be warm, so cats would prefer their meals served at room temperature.

Size and shape matter too! A wide and shallow bowl is best to help prevent the cat’s sensitive whiskers touching the sides and allow them to monitor their surroundings when eating.

🐱 Each cat is in an individual with their own preferences, so some cats will happily eat and drink from metal or plastic bowls.
