Our Story
This year, the virtual Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is taking place online on October 4, 2020, in 57 communities across Canada β including our community here in Durham.
The CIBC Run for the Cure unites a collective of Canadians who are a force-for-life in the face of breast cancer. With the support of that collective, we fund the best breast cancer research, provide the largest cancer support system in the country and advocate on behalf of all Canadians for important social change.
Together, we have made significant progress in breast cancer support, prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment and care. But thereβs still so much more to be done.
1 in 8 women is expected to develop breast cancer in her lifetime and, on average, more than 70 Canadians will be diagnosed with breast cancer every day.
