Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦🍁
Rising food costs make it challenging for many Canadians to provide their families with fresh fruits and vegetables.💔
If you work with families, here are some tips you can share to help them stay healthy on a budget:
1. Check store flyers for seasonal produce that's on sale. 🥬🍅🍓
As we head into summer, many seasonal fruits & vegetables like berries and greens will be more affordable.
2. Buy Canadian-grown whenever possible. 🇨🇦
You can tell if food is grown locally by checking labels to see where it was grown.
3. Look for community gardens. 👩🏼🌾
Many are open from spring to fall and let you grow and harvest your own vegetables!
