Flagbearers! đšđŠ Congratulations to Katarina Roxon and Patrick Anderson on being named tomorrow's flagbearers for Team Canada at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
Roxon competed at the Canada Games in 2005, and will now compete in her 5th Paralympic Games, while Anderson competed at the Canada Games in 1995, and will now compete in his 6th Paralympic Games.
Good luck to all our alumni and all of Team Canada!

The Olympics weren't the only thing happening recently. Canada Games Alumni also contributed beyond Paris 2024:
The Women's Baseball World Cup saw Team Canada clinch a bronze medal at home in Thunder Bay with a 4-2 win over Mexico, led by captain Zoe Hicks (MB, 2017 Softball), hitting .263 with 6 RBIs and drawing 3 walks over 6 games. Meanwhile, up-and-coming superstar Jaida Lee (NL, 2022) pitched 5 scoreless innings in a win against Venezuela!
Rinkside, Cole Reschny (SK, 2023), Ămile GuitĂ© (QC, 2023) and Gavin McKenna (YT, 2023) led Team Canada to Gold in the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup with 3 goals each over the 5-game tournament! Canada Games alumni made up 17 out of 22 of the rostered players, all of whom participated in the 2023 Canada Winter Games!
Former Team Ontario flag bearer Brody Clarke (ON, 2013) was named to the Canadian Elite Basketball League's All-Canadian Team as a member of the Edmonton Stingers.

Rylan Wiens (SK, 2017) is the first Canada Games alum to win a medal for at with a bronze in 10m synchronized diving!
By the lanes, Mary-Sophie Harvey (QC, 2013) placed fourth in 200m Freestyle. Typically a relay swimmer, this was her first Olympic competition as a solo swimmer.
