We had some Fresh Air staffers trash talking pretty hard in the lead-up to Boxing Day Burnoff at Nakkertok. Turns out they pulled out a win against rival team. Congrats to both teams, and apologies to Nolan who, we're guessing, is going to suffer a lot more chirping for another year 🤣

On the shortest day of the year the sun sure put on a show while it was here. Inner loop of the park is a little bit better than OK for skating. No classic tracks, but for the amount of snow we have, and Demsis are working some pre-Christmas magic.

Managed to win the argument with my coworkers and snuck away in time to catch the last rays of sun along the shores of Fortune Lake. Gatineau Park was resplendent in it's winter best. Could not have asked for a better first ski of the year.

This year there are no club buys for ski passes, just early season deals. Prices go up Thursday on the NCC website. Park pass holders get a discount at Fresh Air all season long so you can save even more!

We made it out to the first ski swap of the season at a rainy Nakkertok today. We have most of our ski stock available now with more new arrivals coming in every day

After a few days of touring we got down to business. Salomon invited the top nordic retailers in North America to tour their design facilities in Annecy. They have scaled down production facilities on site so we could see how the punch gets made.

Part of these meetings was us providing direct feedback to Salomon on what products have worked best for our customers. We will have more to say about this in the coming weeks and months - suffice to say for now that your feedback matters. Great trip and many thanks to Salomon for inviting us to your home.

If you are looking to score some late season deals on some ski equipment this weekend will likely be your last chance. We have more and more bike stuff arriving every day and need to make more room next week.

We will keep wax and cleaner around until the snow is gone.

Our Kichi Sibi Rental location is closed for the season. This will be the last weekend for rentals in store. Friendly reminder that when the trails in Gatineau Park are not recommended by the NCC we cannot offer any rentals.

With the extreme cold weather warning we will not be able to open our Kichi Sibi Rental Location tomorrow. If you are looking for skis we will be open 10-5 Saturday and Sunday 12-5 at 1291 Wellington for rentals and sales. We also plan to be at K-Trail Sunday 10-4 stoking the fire and renting skis and bikes.

Like the volunteers who are grooming our urban pathways, our "Parent Ambassador Program" rarely takes a rest!
