At SVGAO, we cherish literature, especially when it showcases the rich tapestry of Caribbean folklore crafted by our Vincies!

On November 2nd, we’re excited to spotlight two prominent Vincentian authors: Dr. Nicholette Spring and Dr. Richard Byron-Cox.

Dr. Spring will present a specially curated 45th Anniversary Poem, while Dr. Byron-Cox will share excerpts from his book, The Story of Paulene Bramble. Both works beautifully align with our Independence celebrations, highlighting the cultural history of our homeland.

You can find their books on Amazon—let’s support our talented authors!

Grab your tickets now and dive into a vibrant cultural experience as we sprinkle our magic on their dazzling performances!

About Us

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Association of Ottawa Inc. (SVGAOttawa) is a non-profitable Organization.

The SVGAO was founded by Vincentians in Ottawa on October 27, 1979, the same date our native homeland gained full independence from Britain and the year of the eruption of the volcano, La Soufriere. At the time of the establishment of the Association, the purpose was to assist with aid to those who were displaced in the wake of the eruption. Since then, the Association has broadened its scope of mission -- to promote and support civic engagement locally as well as in our native homeland. We work in partnership with other Vincentian and other ethnic and cultural groups in Canada who share a common goal with us.

Mission Statement:
To promote, support and assist the goals and objectives of Vincentians, their descendants, of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the National Capital Region, as well as to offer support to our Native country.
