We are excited to share that Nadine Ijaz, an Assistant Professor in our department, has been awarded the 2023 Rosalind Franklin Society Special Award in Science! This award recognizes outstanding peer-reviewed research by women and underrepresented minorities in STEM.

Nadine’s interdisciplinary research in the field of traditional/Indigenous, complementary and integrative medicine (TCIM) draws on the disciplines of medical sociology and anthropology, (postcolonial feminist) science and technology studies, and critical policy studies. Her research draws attention to contentious questions of epistemic (in)justice, health care accessibility, risk discourse, and cultural misappropriation – including in the policy sphere. Nadine’s incredible work has expanded to the World Health Organization (WHO) over the past year where she has been active in a range of activities, including speaking at conferences all over the world.

Congratulations Nadine!
