FinalIly! After years of hunting for a proper DIY shampoo recipe, I finally found one that is easy to make, deliciously luxurious and works so well it ruins you for commercial chemical shampoos. I will never go back. The ingredients are easy to find locally. For over six months now I've been using this recipe and I have not seen any spoilage when made in the quantity below and used within a couple of months. The results are too good not to share. You will need:
A. an empty clean opaque squeeze bottle no smaller than 275ml's (I use an old shampoo bottle).
B. 1/2 cup of full fat coconut milk (stir the contents well before measuring)
C. 1/2 cup Castile soap (I use Dr. Bronner's - whatever brand you choose - make sure you get a pure one, many have additives)
D. 10-15 drops each of 2 or 3 of your favourite essential oils. Rosemary reportedly works great for people with thinning hair looking for regrowth. Lemongrass is reportedly also somewhat helpful in this respect but really, use what you love.
Shake it up well just before you apply and squeeze it right onto your scalp. It lathers like a dream.
