At 6:00 PM today, Nearly New closed it's doors forever.
Thank you to everyone that purchased items from us over the years. I have heard many people say that they loved things that they bought here, and many people who bought computers have said years later that they were still working great. I'm glad that I was able to help everyone that I did, and I'm thankful for the times that were good here.
I am not very happy about the times that were bad because I had to pay money out of my own pocket to work here 6 days a week. The last 4 years have been a huge drain, but I just kept thinking it would get better. At the beginning of this year, things did start getting back to normal, and we were making enough to start paying off some Covid bills. I thought this year was going to be a very good one.
Then... The fences went up, and the road got torn up. Then... Nobody could access the store's front door very easily. We had people calling, and saying they'd be here in 20 minutes, or 30 minutes or whatever, but they would never show up here.
We lost 90% of our normal sales right away, and it stayed that way. That's when I decided that I couldn't do this anymore. I decided it was time to close.
Tomorrow would have been the start of 16 years in this store. I'm truly sorry, and very sad that we won't be starting the 16th year.
Nobody can imagine what it's like to put all of your life into a business for this long, and have it crash down in front of you, unless they've been through it. I can't even put it in words, how depressing it is. I do hope the future holds better things.
I will be at the store from time to time, clearing things out and cleaning up. If you need something, text or call the store. If I have what you're looking for, I'll let you know.
