Does anxiety ever get in the way of you living your life fully?

I’ve been there. I know how anxiety can keep me from really participating in life and suck the joy out of living.

I’ve done a lot of work on that over the years, and I’ve learned a lot.
I’d like to share with you some of the techniques I have found useful.

You will learn simple, quick techniques to calm you down in the moment. And one special technique that will make it easy for you to enjoy something you have been dreading.

One woman who was really afraid of flying, found herself dancing in the airplane aisle, she was so happy to be over the fear. She actually enjoyed the turbulence.

On Sunday, February 5, at 11 am Pacific Time, I’ll be hosting a free one hour webinar to help you shift from anxiety to joy. If you can’t make that time, there will a be recording available, but only for people who registered for the event.

Can you help me with a decision?

If I were to do an online class, would you rather it be quick techniques to relieve anxiety or meditation for people who "can't meditate"?

There would be some overlap, as meditation techniques are good for anxiety, but there would be some differences, as well.

The anti-anxiety techniques would mostly take 1 to 5 minutes to bring you back to a state of calm.

The meditation would be in the range of 3 to 20 minutes. The meditations could be modified to suit whatever you purpose is for meditating.

Even if you don't plan to join me for a class, let me know, below, which one you'd be more interested in.

I recently attended an acupuncture seminar on the 8 extraordinary meridians and was inspired to bring back this modality within the Health Coaching framework that I am now focusing on.

During the 10 years of doing Community style acupuncture, I had to drop this branch of acupuncture to suit the community environment. The extraordinary meridian modality allows for deeper engagement with the core issues presented, as it addresses epigenetics and psycho-physical symptoms.

I am excited to be able to work in this style again to empower people to go deeper into their healing journey instead of just coming in for a quick fix. If you are interested in taking charge of your health and exploring the roots of your chronic issues, I would love to talk to you.

Have you ever noticed that when you have a frustrating day you come home feeling wasted?

Have you ever noticed that when you’re having fun or when you meet a dear old friend you haven’t seen a while, you have lots of energy, even if you didn’t sleep well the night before?

Our emotions have a powerful impact on our physical bodies. Studies have proven that not only do we have more energy when we are experiencing positive emotions, but our immune systems are being stimulated as well.We also produce more growth hormone, which can reverse the aging process.

So how do we keep the positive emotions and let go of the negative ones? The key is in our attitude towards life. When we practice gratitude and compassion on a regular basis, we learn to let go of the attachments that lead to anger, resentment, and fear.

Until we have perfected the practices of gratitude and compassion, we need to learn ways to diffuse the unhealthy energy in our bodies that negative emotions bring. One of my favorite practices is a Chinese qi gong meditation called the Inner Smile.

Do you get migraines or tension headaches?

Migraines are a result of a disruption in the body’s Wood element, the flow management system according to Traditional Chinese Medicine. A lack of exercise, poor diet, and, on an emotional level, by anger, frustration, and suppression of feelings are the main causes for this imbalance.

Learn to flow like a river and your Wood element will be happy. But going with the flow is not necessarily what people think it is. Rivers are powerful: Sometimes they go around obstacles and sometimes they overcome them, but they always get where they are going.

Hello everybody! A few changes have taken place. I have a new clinic name, a new website and a new online booking service.

The experience in the clinic is just the same as it has always been.

I decided to drop the name Powell River from my clinic name. Upon reflection, I realized I did not need an abstract name, so it is simply Edward Sanderson Acupuncture.

You can now book online again, at my new website, for community acupuncture. For private sessions you need to call or email me.

The resources section on the new website is not quite what it was. More will be added as time goes on. If there is something you are missing, please let me know.
