Happy Monday! The NPC is excited to announce this semesters DRAG NIGHT at the Thirsty Moose Pub next Friday, March 22nd! We have a variety of performers lined up as well as feature drinks and lots of other fun planned. Tabling schedule for ticket sales will be posted shortly so stay tuned! Happy Tuesday everyone! The NPC will be hosting a scavenger hunt on campus this Thursday from 4-7 PM. You will begin your adventure at the NPC (RM 6-344) and participants with the fastest finishing time will win a prize! We hope to see you there! 🏳️‍🌈

Tomorrow night! Exams are just around the corner and we know that the stress feels endless at times.. Join the NPC for a fun painting evening to help unwind. Supplies will be provided but you are more than welcome to bring your own materials. Light snacks, music, and positive vibes are also provided! We hope to see you there!!

Happy Wednesday everyone! As you may have heard, the NPC is hosting our 3rd Drag Night next Saturday at the Thirsty Moose. Tickets are on sale in the Wintergarden on campus from 10 AM - 2 PM most days. Please remember that 2 physical pieces of valid ID are required upon entry. We look forward to seeing you there!

This FRIDAY! Come join us in the NUSC space for pumpkin carving night. Bring yourself and some friends to have some halloween fun. We will have some carving supplies, snacks, and music for all who join! Pumpkins are first come first serve so get there early! We hope to see you there 👻🎃🧙

Hey folks! The Northern Pride Centre will be at this years pride picnic. Tomorrow at Rainbow Park ***r_connections is hosting their annual Pride Picnic. The NPC will be there will a button making station by donation. Hope you all are having a lovely summer🏳️‍🌈

Last but certainly not least: the current president of the UNBC northern pride centre, Colby Hangle (they/them, he/him)! Colby is a Psychology major and is minoring in First Nations Studies. He is also a Youth Research Associate for the RE-IMAGYN BC Study at SFU. If you ever have any question or want to partner with the NPC feel free to contact Colby via email [email protected]!

Down to the final two! Bo (they/them) is the current acting vice-president of the NPC. They are in their 3rd year at UNBC studying conservation science. You may also recognize them from the UNBC drag performer as Mantis! Bo hopes to be a friendly and helpful face around the pride centre and is looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

Back at it with the last few board member introductions! Here we have our social media manager Hannah! Hannah uses she/they pronouns and loves the outdoors and all animals big and small. She is the one behind the scenes who posts, replies, and designs the NPC social media pages that you can find here on instagram and facebook for the latest updates regarding events and other campus activities!

Next we have Christine (she/her, they/them) our returning secretary/treasurer. Christine enjoys studying in the pride centre, but is often caught napping on the couches instead! We love you Christine!!😋

Continuing on with board introductions: Say hello to Jaspreet (he/him): our volunteer coordinator and another newly elected board member! Jas is in his first year at UNBC and studying International Studies and Political Science. He loves nature walks, swimming, and gardening in his free time and enjoys trying new things. You can find Jas in the NPC where he is often seen reading books and hosting movie nights with friends. Feel free to say hello if you ever see him around campus!

This is Chloe Taylor, our newly elected events coordinator! Chloe uses she/her pronouns and is in her first year at UNBC studying environmental planning. Her interests include cartography and she loves to read!

Hello everyone! Introducing our 2023 NPC board members! We will be posting all of our lovely admins over the next few days so stay tuned 👀 First up we have Megan (she/her) our wonderful Librarian and Historian for the Northern Pride Centre. Megan is a third year history major who also helps run the UNBC History Club. Come check out a book from the Pride Centre library or ask Megan about archives from the club’s previous years!

We would like to give a HUGE thank you to Books and Company and everyone who donated in our book drive! So many amazing titles have been added to our library collection to be signed out and enjoyed! While the book drive has closed now, lightly used 2SLGBTQIA+ books can still be donated in the Pride Centre.

REIMAGYN Study Update: The qualitative protocol paper exploring how q***r, trans, and non-monogamous young women and non-binary youth in BC perceive existing measures of gender equity and understand gender equity based on their own relationships has been published in the International Journal of Qualitative Methods. Our Volunteer and Event coordinator Colby Hangle is one of the authors in this article and we couldn't be prouder. 🌈

Hello all! The Northern Pride Centre has partnered with Books & Company for a book drive! We are looking for newly purchased or lightly used 2SLGBTQIA+ themed books to update our library with. If you would like to donate to the NPC this season of giving, we encourage you to purchase a q***r novel from Books & Co or donate any recently finished books from your shelves.
Donations can be dropped off at Books & Co during their regular hours. Happy Holidays! 🎄🎁

Today on Trans Day of Remembrance we remember and honour those who have lost their lives for the fight to simply exist. Thank you to for helping us spread awareness on such an important day to the LGBTQIA2S+ community 🏳️‍⚧️

Hello all! We are hosting an event in collaboration with this coming Friday where we’ll have performances featuring some young, up & coming drag artists from PG. We have specialty drinks, awesome vibes, and open mic karaoke planned so we hope to see all of you out there having fun!
