The Northern Pride Centre is a drop-in centre for LGBTQ students, community members, and allies

The Northern Pride Centre Society is a provincially-recognized non-profit society. The society has five executive board members: President, Vice-President, Secretary-treasurer, Volunteer Coordinator, and Events Manager. Executives meet the second Friday of every month, and general meetings (open to everyone) meet the third Friday of every month.

Happy Monday! The NPC is excited to announce this semesters DRAG NIGHT at the Thirsty Moose Pub next Friday, March 22nd! We have a variety of performers lined up as well as feature drinks and lots of other fun planned. Tabling schedule for ticket sales will be posted shortly so stay tuned! Tomorrow night! Exams are just around the corner and we know that the stress feels endless at times.. Join the NPC for a fun painting evening to help unwind. Happy Wednesday everyone! As you may have heard, the NPC is hosting our 3rd Drag Night next Saturday at the Thirsty Moose. Tickets are on sale in the Wintergarden on campus from 10 AM - 2 PM most days. Please remember that 2 physical pieces of valid ID are required upon entry. We look forward to seeing you there!

Continuing on with board introductions: Say hello to Jaspreet (he/him): our volunteer coordinator and another newly elected board member! Jas is in his first year at UNBC and studying International Studies and Political Science. He loves nature walks, swimming, and gardening in his free time and enjoys trying new things. You can find Jas in the NPC where he is often seen reading books and hosting movie nights with friends. Feel free to say hello if you ever see him around campus!

We would like to give a HUGE thank you to Books and Company and everyone who donated in our book drive! So many amazing titles have been added to our library collection to be signed out and enjoyed! While the book drive has closed now, lightly used 2SLGBTQIA+ books can still be donated in the Pride Centre.

REIMAGYN Study Update: The qualitative protocol paper exploring how q***r, trans, and non-monogamous young women and non-binary youth in BC perceive existing measures of gender equity and understand gender equity based on their own relationships has been published in the International Journal of Qualitative Methods. Our Volunteer and Event coordinator Colby Hangle is one of the authors in this article and we couldn't be prouder. 🌈

Hello all! The Northern Pride Centre has partnered with Books & Company for a book drive! We are looking for newly purchased or lightly used 2SLGBTQIA+ themed books to update our library with. If you would like to donate to the NPC this season of giving, we encourage you to purchase a q***r novel from Books & Co or donate any recently finished books from your shelves.
Donations can be dropped off at Books & Co during their regular hours. Happy Holidays! πŸŽ„πŸŽ
