A sneak peek for the couple. This was one for the books. A beautiful but hot day, staying cool with fans and water and joy, running around capturing their joy and laughter with their friends and family. Loved every minute of it.

* I won't even tell you the amount of times Raely harassed me and Bryan for a sneak peek. She is many things but patient is not one. But it was a wedding full of laughter and stories and thick northern accents. Congrats Bryan and Raely.

Facebook told me it has been 160 days since I posted but your girl has been busy. I had my PhD Comps (I passed), I turned 40 (feeling good and sacred still), and I took a two week vacation to visit some of my besties (it was medicine!).

But now, I am Fully Booked until September. I have to submit a thesis in 10 weeks (ish) and then I'm taking the summer off to rest my weary, tired soul.

So hit me up in September with your weddings, your engagements, your Fall family pics. I'll be ready with camera in hand.

Sneak peek for Jill and Phil - this was the sweetest wedding at the start of August. From the homemade details and all the little touches throughout that spoke of their love story for not only each other, but for their friends and family, it was an absolute joy to be a part of this day.

A real sneak peek for Smokii and Eli, married oceanside on July 7th, 2023 by the beaches of Tofino. It was an adventure from start to finish, and I was so friggen honoured to capture their love story.

And the dog did alright too.

Well, I'm back in Saskatchewan. It was an intense two weeks that included one last day of driving 1200 KM's, through mountain and prairie. Insane. But such a good time was had with visiting all the aunts and uncles and kin, and so many more stories added to me and Aerie's lives, so I'm very, very thankful right now.

That being said, I also caught a summer cold when I got back, and am finishing my Indigenous Joys beading project, so your images are coming, and will start being delivered Monday, ish. Your patience has been seen and appreciated.

Also, thank you to everyone for your patience in returning your edits.

I'm currently on vacay mode with my daughter and am not doing any work-work, hahahaha, and focusing on beadwork, being present in the moment, watching scary movies and listening to the stories of the ones I love to be around.

I will be back and refreshed by Back to Batoche Days, eeeeeee.

in late May, the phenomenal photographer known as Jazz asked me to do a quick session of him while I was in la Loche. Heckkk yeaaahhhhh. I adore his work, and knew he would bring all that attitude to his session. We had a blast. These are a few of my favourites, and I cannot wait for the next adventure.

Two Part Workshop for Indigenous Joys - come hang out!

“Aunties Joys” Is a two-part workshop to photograph community members and print them on 4 x 6 photo paper (as well as have access to digital images) where participants will meet and bead their photograph alongside Tenille Campbell – The outcome will be reclaiming visual narratives in our communities and be transformed onto the billboard at AKA. Tenille will play a pivotal role in collaborating with the participants individually and collectively in preparation for the work produced to be displayed outdoors with AKA's billboard exhibition space and community engagement at AKA in Saskatoon.

How to register: Send [email protected] your full name, and your availability to attend both activities (Photo taking day, and workshop July 29th both in Saskatoon). We ask that you self-declare if you are an Indigenous person and what background that is, we also ask for a sentence or two on how you relate to the workshop "Aunties Joy" or Indigenous Joy. The maximum space is 15 participants on first come, first served basis, we will send email confirmations to confirm your participation in the first session by June 23rd. Selected participants for the photo session will be emailed once the location for the Beading session is confirmed.

A few weeks ago, I was blessed to be in Tkaronto and able to attend and photograph the opening reception of Materialized, an art show curated by Ariel Smith (and presented in partnership with Indigenous Women in the Arts) featuring artists Joi T Arcand, Celeste Pedro, Catherine Blackburn and an off-site billboard by Nadya Kwandibens aka Red Works.

On a personal note, I’m lucky enough to consider all these people my friends, and as an emerging artist, I find their work captivating. The use of photography in so many mixed mediums inspires me, challenges me, and makes me want to do more. This show was such a highlight of my year already, and leaves me constantly thinking about how storytelling is being embodied is so many platforms. Ugghhhh, I just friggen love it.

We ended the season with a beautiful wedding celebrating Brittany and Joshua, held at Dakota Dunes, on October 8th, 2022. It was a beautiful day, chasing that golden light, surrounded by auntie laughs and uncle jokes. Sneak peek.
