Saskatoon Haunted House

One of the most persistent urban legends surrounding the University Bridge in Saskatoon is the tale of a worker who supposedly fell into the wet concrete during the bridge's construction and was left entombed within the structure. According to the legend, this tragic accident occurred when a worker slipped and fell into a form as the concrete was being poured. The story claims that, rather than halting construction to retrieve the body, the supervisors chose to continue pouring, entombing the unfortunate worker within the bridge.

Witnesses and workers at the time are said to have been aware of the incident, but the pressures of completing the bridge on time and within budget supposedly led to the decision to leave the body in place. Over the years, this grim tale has been passed down, adding an eerie mystique to the historic bridge. The legend further suggests that, on quiet nights, passersby can hear faint cries for help emanating from the bridge, or feel an inexplicable sense of sorrow while crossing it.

Despite the popularity of this story, there is no concrete evidence (pun intended) to support it. Historical records of the bridge's construction do not mention such an incident, and engineering experts point out that the structural integrity of the bridge would likely have been compromised if such a thing had actually happened. Nonetheless, this tale continues to capture the imagination of locals.

I read about the Island of the Dolls in Mexico, and it sounds so creepy with all those old, decaying dolls hanging from the trees. The dolls are said to be placed there by the island's former caretaker to appease the spirit of a drowned girl.

Freddy Krueger has to be my favorite horror character. The way he invades dreams and turns them into nightmares is terrifying. Plus, his burned face and razor glove are so iconic… Who’s your favorite horror character, and what makes them so scary?

Some locals claim the historic Bessborough Hotel in Saskatoon is haunted by a ghostly woman seen wandering the halls. Guests have reported strange occurrences like unexplained noises and sudden cold drafts.

In the grand ballroom, a gentleman in a gray suit and fedora is often seen greeting passersby. This friendly figure, known as the Man in Gray, is believed to be the spirit of a former employee who tragically died after being thrown over a railing by two drunken guests, leaving a crack in the marble floor where he landed.

The third floor is home to a disheveled woman with torn clothes and messy hair. She roams the halls silently but will scream and disappear if approached or disturbed.

In the stairwell, playful laughter can be heard, attributed to the spirits of children who tragically died in the hotel. These ghostly children are said to enjoy their spectral playtime, unaffected by the presence of the living.

These stories add to the Bessborough's mystique, but remember, they are just that—stories​.
