Thank you for all the comments and stories identifying this flower.
We have confirmed that it is a Thermopsis Rhombifolia, also known as golden or buffalo bean.
The Buffalo Bean and wudzi-eh-ka, meaning buffalo-flower, has cultural significance for Indigenous people because these plants bloom in spring during the time that the buffalo leave their wintering grounds and head into the prairies.
Elders used the yellow flowers to dye skin bags or arrows.
The plant has TOXIC properties if ingested!!!
The golden bean is extremely important for pollinators in the spring.
Thanks again everyone for the great lesson.
❤️
A pasture bouquet!
Not sure what these flowers are called?
Anyone know?
It’s a Dandelion of a Saturday! 😀
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.
